Added a new video Alpine Gravity Elevation Gravity Enduro Mountain Bike Series 2013 - 2014 10/7/2013 4:31 PM

This series is the fastest growing series in Australia and one of the most popular formats of racing due to its fun nature and accessibility to all types of riders and bikes. Due to this we are CAPPING ENTRIES AT 300 MAXIMUM for this series so that the transport remains quick and consistent and the trails don't get flogged. Make sure you are a part of it!!!

Enter Barjarg round 1 here:

What Is the Elevation Series?

This new race series is one of the COOLEST RACE FORMATS ON THE PLANET, as it isn't hard core downhill, and not hard core uphill either, it's a great mix of 70% FLOWING DESCENDING TRAILS, and 30% UNDULATING. Without the technical downhill sections, and no massive steep, long climbs like a cross country race, it's the prefect event for all riders. The perfect bike would be a 4, 5, or 6 inch travel bike, but all courses are rideable on your XC or DH bike too.

What Is the Actual Event Format and How Does It Work?

The Elevation Gravity Enduro series is a two day event, with practice all day Saturday, then practice Sunday morning, and racing Sunday afternoon (the only exception to this is round 2 at Bright is Friday practice, Saturday racing). When you arrive at the event, you make your way to the registration tent, grab your number plate from your pre online entry and then make your way to the transport pick up. We put your bike on a special bike carrying trailer and you then jump in a vehicle and we take you and your bike to the top of the mountain, and then you ride down....EASY!!! Registration is open at every event from 8am Saturday, and transport to the top is 9am-4pm. Rego is then open from 8am Sunday, with transport ALSO starting at 8am until 11.30am when official practice ends. All individual rider and class start times are posted up at registration and is also announced over the P.A. system so you know when and where to be. You then catch transport up the hill for TWO timed runs, and your FASTEST run counts as your result. If you are happy with your first run, your second run is optional and not mandatory.

What If I Can't Make Every round, Crash, or Have a Mechanical While Racing?

We realize not everyone will be able to make it to all seven rounds due to work, family, or other commitments, so your overall series results will be based on your BEST FIVE ROUNDS OUT OF SEVEN to make it a more level playing field. If you miss a round or two, you are still in with a chance for the overall series title (if you care about your results). If you have a crash or a mechanical problem at a race, you STILL HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE with a second timed run. What these things mean is that if you miss a round or two, of have a crash or bike problem, you still haven't wasted your money coming to that race, you still have the chance to get a good result with a second run, and still have a shot at an overall result.

But I Don't Really Like "Racing".......

Great, then this series is perfect for you. This series has a very relaxed and cruisey vibe to it, so there's no pressure or stress, and you will be surrounded by likeminded riders who just love to ride bikes, but if you STILL don't like the thought of "racing" then maybe the new "GRUDGE MATCH" class is for you. Grudge match works differently to all the other classes. If you ONLY want to race your mates, you enter as a "team" of 2-10 riders, and then that "team" becomes an individual class, not bound by age or ability. Just challenge each other!!!

All Types of Classes to Enter for Your Age or Ability

We have a class to suit every age and every ability that ride bikes. Junior age classes are Under 13, Under 15, Under 17 and Under 19. We then have Sport (beginner), Expert (intermediate) and Elite Men and Elite Woman. Then for the more matured riders, we have Veteran (over 30), Masters (over 40) and Super Masters (over 50), and of course the new "grudge match" class for a team of mates. The age class goes on what age you are during the series. For example the age system starts on October 18, and finishes May 12. If you are 16 years old you would be under 17, but if you then turn 17 during those dates, you would be classed as Under 19.

What's New with the Series This Season?

  • 25% discount for entering the whole series upfront
  • Two timed runs for all riders, not just one
  • Seven amazing rounds instead of five
  • A professional promo film made at each round by Jake Lucas media
  • More variation in the tracks, terrain, and course length
  • A large marquee with chairs and tables at each round to chill out, listen to music and watch MTB videos on the big screen
  • A true Victorian series spread out all over the state
  • Grudge match, a class to race just your mates not anyone else
  • Pro scaffold start ramp every round
  • Fantastic food and drink catering each round
  • Massive inflatable finish line to finish under each round
  • Helmet cam footage preview for each course
  • Mad new trophies for elite men and elite woman
  • Podium to get on when you place top three

What Are We Doing the Same That Riders Loved?

  • Professional timing by Castech
  • Friendly and helpful Rego staff
  • Music through the P.A. all weekend
  • Professional transport to the top of the mountain for maximum time on your bike
  • Well bunted course from top to bottom so you know where you’re going
  • Professional first aid at each round

I saw that crash in person, hardly looked anything serious when it happened, just goes to show the serious out come of even a minor crash when you go down wrong. All the best Greg

Added a new video AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL CHAMPS DOWNHILL 2013 / THE ROOST 2/25/2013 8:14 PM

What a day, after four days of fairly consistent dry weather the heavens opened up on race day, sections that were once inches deep in dust were now slick and fast running. Bets were laid on and changed all over again as weather became the deciding factor. There was a major upset in U19's women with Kellie Wienert taking the win from Gemma Greentree with Danni Beecroft in third as she and Tegan Molloy both battled to save their race runs after flatting out in the start of their runs. In U19's Dean Lucas took the win much to his own surprise from Thomas Crimmins and Aiden Varley. In Elite Women, Tracey Hannah surprised herself edging out local Caroline Buchanan for the Australian title, Lisa Mathison fell into third. In Elite Men it was a brother sister double act and another win for the new Polygon team, with Mick Hannah muscling the field to take the win almost two seconds up on Jared Graves in second. Sam Hill rallied for third which could possibly be his best result on a track he notably dislikes. SUPPORT THOSE BEHIND THE VID Video by JL Media :
