Good points... if I'm honest with myself, I'd say it took me a good full year of riding clips to fully regain the same confidence I had in cornering and slow tech gnar. But I know I am a faster racer on clips so I stuck with it. One of the keys for me is using Crank Brothers easy release cleats. I don't seem to have any issues with accidental releases but I can get out really quick when I need to... and I think mentally knowing I'm able to get out quick helps.

As a picky bastard, I’ll say to have a look at that again.
In unsupported corners, or where the turn is longer, he drops the outside foot.
That’s about the only time it looks like his hips are outside too. He’s otherwise really lined up feet to head, level pedals like you say.
All edging, no...more

The rear tire I ran previously was a 2.3 DHR2 DD in maxxterra but the increase in rolling speed of the dissector was extremely noticeable. I just put a 2.5 HR2 DD maxxterra back on the rear and rode the same trails in the same conditions the next day and my...more

I've ridden a both a 2.4 HR2 and 2.4 DHR2 in EXO maxxterra already AND I always run 28 psi rear with exo casing so that would be an apples to apples comparison (same rim ID as well). My comment simply built on the review it wasn't a complete summary....more

To clear this up a bit, we sent both Fox and Rockshox EDC Taps and Top caps for third party testing back in 2017. To our knowledge, neither were unable to cause a failure during their respective lab testing. RockShox makes no official statement that we are aware of but Fox's...more

FWIW: the tool to tighten down the headset cap is just a cassette tool. but I recognize that, if you don't want an EDC, there's not much appeal to running a headset cap with a big hole in the middle. and while there's almost certainly no problem with putting a star nut back...more

My problem is that, largely due to publications suggesting it when the EDC was first introduced, it's become "accepted fact" that it will void your warranty, when said publications could, with the barest bit of research into what a manufacturer can legally claim to...more

Now just integrate it with a roof box... maybe the lower two inches of the whole box... now you got a stew going!

Would love to see how a a classic DHF/DHR II compares with an Assegai/Dissector combo. All in EXO+ and MaxxTerra please. Also, how you didn't test a DHF up front against the Assegai is crazy... probably the two most popular front tires right now.

Great test I thought! Curious how a Dissector in the back with an Assegai on the front would do.

Yes! That's my plan for this year EXO+ Assegai up front and EXO+ (if they make them) Dissector out back. If no EXO+ then DHR II.

How do you know the guaranteed fairy isn't some crazy glue sniffer... He sneaks into your house once and that's all it takes. Next thing you know, there is money missing off your dresser and your daughter is knocked up! I've seen it a hundred times.
