I was running the last version roval carbons for a couple seasons and thought they were great. When they first came out they were one of the less expensive options. It’s nice to see they still look like a good option.

Mountain bikers: "If it's not free, it's a bit pricey."

Also: "The wheel bearings roll extremely smoothly and notably faster than most wheelsets..."

How are you able to zero in on the bearings and feel this phenomena, and compare it objectively to other wheels? Do you have...more

The questions is not carbon or aluminum. I was saying for carbon rims the Roval seem ok.
The question if carbon rims are worth the money is a different one and honestly, I think its not justified. However, I must say that my SC Carbon have been trouble free, needed no truing, feel more precise than alu and come with a life time warranty (otherwise I wouldn't have dared to shell that cash). I mean, for that price you get half a YT Capra (my last bike).

I thought 1.6k is rather average for carbon wheels. I am still on my Santa Cruz Reserve Carbon Wheels, that I bought because of the good critic they received on this website. They cost 1700, which at the time was rather inexpensive for Carbon wheels. Rovals are hard to get.

In my opinion, every bike park short/pant must have two pockets big enough to hold the following:

Pocket 1: Modern smart phone, say iPhone XR. Add credit card.
Pocket 2: Lift ticket, bills, car key, mini tool (to adjust cockpit after crash, mostly the one from friends who didn't bring anything)

Great podcast, most questions I came up with during the conversation were answered.
I got reassured that it is a very sympathetic brand. I'll stay with them.

I also liked what they said about eBikes and their retail model (through shops). I was happy with my Canyony and YT and I only felt comfortable to spend that much money on a Yeti was because it was backed up by a great local bike shop. It seems to work and they do not need to go consumer direct.

I wonder how much of a blow/let down it is that their maine racer RR can't race right now.

Best of luck, have fun!

I am building mine up with an X2 (more pop, easier to get the sag right), but that orange spring looks sexy. Is there a recommondation from Yeti on the spring? On their website I only found recommondations for air setting.
Now please show us more photos, especially the Chris King parts and the cockpit.

You know your bikes overpriced when it's stock and still gets "bike of the day"...

OK, I admit I was being a d!ck, but it was funny...

AND, that's a "mid range" Stock build that looks like it's right off the sales floor getting "bike of the day". People spend weeks and months building their bikes to try and get a BOTD. Even if they are new from the shop they are usually unique in...more

Props to Sven, he had a hard job keeping that bike standing. How do you photographers deside who has to do it? Do you draw straws?
PS, I guess if I was Rachel I would have asked for new grips at least by Saturday. Those things look worn.

A few comments:

-"no crazy antisquat numbers" : anti-squat of 100% basically means that whatever suspension movement is introduced by the force on the pedals is counter-acted by the tension on the chain, leaving the bike essentially free of bobbing (seated climbing, all other things being equal)....more
