Added reply in a thread Why are there still no 200mm+ Enduro bikes? 4/6/2020 3:27 AM

Why do you want a DH bike with a single crown that can pedal up singletrack? A dual crown fork is so much better. It is worth the extra weight. I have a Dorado set at 180mm on my 176mm trail bike and it is easily the best fork I have ever had!

200mm travel "enduro"/trail bikes would be a great thing for rougher terrain. Nicolai allow you to customize their G1 to have more travel if you want it. Paul Aston has big wheeled 200mm G1 and loves it! https://www.instagram.com/astonmtb/ I do agree ... more »

If you already have a bike you are happy with want to know what are the best things to upgrade to make it better then here are my recommendations: 1 - tyres - decent tyres will give you more confidence on the bike by providing more grip. There isn't ... more »

I used to run Schwalbe Magic Mary front and back. Great all around tyres. Then last year I got some Maxxis Assegai and find they out corner the Magic Mary. They are less of an all around tyre because they tend to pack up more easily unless you cut the ... more »

Another yawn fork from Fox...a Dual crown version would be more interesting! Would be nice to see some real innovation from FOX and ROCKSHOX without them being scared of weight restrictions and with some proper service intervals eg +200hours. I am way ... more »

I have done it a bunch of times with a friend who has an ebike. If you pedal along with the ebiker it goes much better and faster. We use two inner tubes attached together for length and the elasticity. One on the seatpost and the other over the stem. ... more »

I would like to see more breathable 3/4 helmets that have that trials motorcycle helmets style.

I cut out the chin from an old Scott Spartan helmet. It is my favorite helmet I have though I wish it was more breathable so I could run it in summer ... more »

I'd recommend the L for your height. You will have to change the way you ride from off the back to in the middle to slightly on the front to get the most of this bike. I'm 1.8m/5'11" and have an L with a +1º headset thus giving me 520mm of reach. I recently tested an XL geometron (535mm reach) and liked it even better!

I don't mine getting a box chain. What I want to know if I can use that cassette with my GX 11 speed shifter with my NX derailleur limited to 9 gears (since the cassette is narrower)? I find that where I live 11 speeds have too many redundant gears.

Is the spacing between cogs the same as 11 speed? I want to know to see if I can run my sram 11 speed deraileur and shifter and just change the chain?

Minnaar's bike is only big compared to the rest of the WC field. It still looks small for Minaar. He runs a XXL with +8mm a reachset so reach is 500mm. He can easily add another 30-40mm reach no problem. His bike looks better on Amaury then his Commencal ... more »

Hope they have also shortened their seat tube lengths. I would like to see more bikes with 450mm seat tube lengths and +500mm reach.

193cm tall and 470mm reach!!! Wow! It depends on whether or not you want to ride more centered and/or if you want to run a shorter stem. If yes then yeah you could add 50-60mm of reach. If you are happy riding off the back then just stick with what you ... more »

WINNING BIKE - Amaury Pierron's Commencal Supreme DH from Lenzerheide

That is a 2.35 Magic Mary. They used to make a 2.5 but now they make a 2.6 though I think it is actually the same tire seeing as the 2.5 was more like 2.56. However, remember that Schwalbe make true to size tire which isn't the case for other brands eg Maxxis (their non WT tires are not true to size).

Well what do you guys mean by high? My 520mm reach bike has a handlebar height of 105cm. I run a 180mm Dorado with a 650b front wheel for reference. If I switch to bigger wheels inevitably that handlebar height off the ground will increase as will bb ... more »

I have a EVOLINK 176 with a +1º angleset which is why I have 520mm of reach rather than the normal 510mm for a size L. Reach is a good value to let you know how the bike will feel when standing on the pedals. Obviously, you need to look at seat angle ... more »
