I had a '14 Rune that kept for three years riding it 3-4X+ a week. The only thing I ever had to do with it was swap the bearings out (easy). It was bombproof.

Actually the deeper insertion means that the saddle can drop about 5mm lower on the V3 than the V2 small for same dropper length.

Small rune V3's ST is 10mm longer, but thats in order to fit more seatpost in. it actually allows you to run most modern 150mm dropper post lower than the V2 due to max insertion length.

Ouch, the geo hasn't changed much if you size down. This shock location offers superior performance... (Trust me I would not have released it if it didn't!) in a stronger package with lower center of gravity, there really is no area where the performance does...more

Faster Than U

On that note, stoked to see u guys making a 26” option. Not everyone wants or needs a 29er. 26 just works better for us vertically challenged riders.

100%. Shorter offset forks help too. There is a magic ratio out there that'll get the rider close to being balanced on the bike. I'm so surprised no manufacturer has really picked up on this and reconfigured their entire lineup around this style of geometry.

We tested RS and FOX back to back and honestly, we much preferred the FOX... price is higher for the fox which has been biggest driver in overall price... oh and the fact that price now includes a pre-installed quality fully sealed headset.

That chainstay length though... [[[LOVE]]]

Glad you have seen beyond the marketing of short chainstays. It's all about balance... if you want a balanced bike with long reach, you need longer chainstays.

It’s still a touch misleading though since it shows all forks having zero tokens. The Luftkappe essentially is a token since the extra negative space comes at the expense of the positive side. The ‘cap’ is ported on the underside allowing the negative air camber to be that much...more

Quick note on the pricing - those figures should actually be in CAD not USD. So for under $105USD ($133CAD) you actually do get the roll pin tool included smile

That’s because they don’t have a choice. When the manufacturers don’t make any other options, that’s what everyone is stuck with.

26 for life! I think bike wheel size should depend on rider and bike size. Smaller riders on small frame and 26 wheels, med on 27.5 and large on 29ers.

By “special “ I assume u mean the fugly bright colors. Acording to the article, those are not available until 2020. They are available now in a much better black or gray. See quote from the article below.

“For those looking for something with a little more pop, the brighter colorway of our test sample will be available in 2020 – in the meantime you’ll have to make do with one of two much stealthier options that will look right at home anywhere from Starbucks to the Savoy Grill.”

Definitely the 38’s. They’re better all around. More volume, less air pressure, more traction, wider footprint, better sidewall support etc.

I'd kill for a 27.5" DH bike these days. I'm stuck at 26" for life....?

Ok, so which one of you dentists here are going to fork out $2700?

Yup, can confirm I get way more trail maintenance done with my E-bike: you get to ride so many more descents, so it isn't as frustrating "wasting" ride time on trail maintenance. And you can easily carry a bigger pack with more tools, further. These bikes are not just for lazy rich...more
