Added a new video Testing, Tours and Fort Bill - Atherton Diaries Ep. 24 5/17/2018 12:36 AM

Follow Gee through some gnarly testing in San Remo - and a brush with the Italian Police! Then there's a much gentler tour of the Endura Factory en route to sunny Fort William and the second round of the UK National Series!

It's a big ask for Gee and Rachel this weekend, with returning to the scene of last year's major injuries for the first time. The psychological elements of racing are definitely taking their toll on the siblings as they share their apprehension in the start-gate. Gee speaks openly of how pissed-off he is not to have put last year's hip dislocation behind him in order to reclaim his famous Fort William pace. Charlie walks away from a Finals crash but there are celebrations too with a hat trick of victories for Rachel, Kade and Atherton Academy's Luke Williamson.

With the World Cup only weeks away the Fort William national round is always well attended by riders wanting to get their lines dialed early. The track had some minor tweaks since last year, mainly to the treacherous woods section, which is still testing riders and causing plenty of carnage.

Added a new video Fabio Wibmer's Escape 2 is Insanely Good! 4/26/2018 11:14 PM

Stop whatever you're doing and watch this! It's got snow, big airs, angry police, and helicopters. Basically just 10 minutes of non-stop action.

Fabio is most well known for his street trials prowess but after watching this we'd say he could certainly hold his own in any freeride competition.

Brendog helmet cam. All the internet haters have surely been silenced, this track is brutal! Obviously not as good as the Vital RAW but it's still pretty good.

Added a new video You Can't Deny That Alex Volokhov Has Style 4/17/2018 12:20 AM

Deep in the Mount Prevost woods, you'll find Alex either shaping dirt into art or carving his trusted two-wheeled steed effortlessly through his creations. Calvin Huth has been dropping banger after banger lately, this is what he had to say about his time shooting with Alex:

"Riding can be a very solitary sport at times. Often accompanied by long days solo building, overcoming injury and pushing through fear. Riders, like Alex Volokhov, tend to have passion for the sport that borders on insanity. Pushing through risk and pain to capture that feeling of accomplishment.

Before Alex and I started filming he had been building in the woods for weeks. He had just finished building four new features and was moving back to Nelson in two weeks. Time was running thin and we had to start filming.  We managed to shoot Mt. Prevost twice in the first week. We completely lucked out, I couldn’t have dreamt up better conditions. Managing to wrap it up in two days and now it was time to film the features Alex had been building.

Unfortunately, the rain had different plans for us! Three of four features Alex built were now un-rideable due to the rain. With time running thin we were left with 1 day to shoot the second half of the video. With much of Alex’s hard work spoiled by rain there was a weird vibe in the air. Luckily his main feature was still rideable, and Alex knew what he wanted. It was on! The second half of this video show’s exactly how that day went down. No bullshit, no faking, this was how the day unfolded.

Rider passion and determination is what I love most about filming bikes. I will always respect the courage and effort these athletes put into their riding, it’s what they live for!"

Added reply in a thread 2018 Racing Rumors 4/13/2018 11:50 PM

If you look closely at the Boxxer lowers they're 27.5, just new paint for the race season. Troy would have to be one of the riders least likely to swap over to 29 given his height.

Added a new video My Name Is Kurt Sorge and I Like to Get Sideways 4/11/2018 3:53 PM

Who better to test out Nelson's first machine built flow trail, aptly named Turnstyles, than a beloved Canadian freerider known for swinging out the rear? Kurt Sorge is the best man for the job.

Polygon Bikes with the scoop:

"More towns are realizing how beneficial biking is to the community and attracting people from all over to experience the beauty of our different areas in this great way. This is now more apparent all over the world and the “hit list” keeps growing and growing as more amazing trails, terrain and everything in-between keep catching my eye.

Nelson has been one of those biking “hit list” destinations for a long time thanks to many dedicated trail builders. A few years ago with the help of the city of Nelson, local sponsors and a skilled trail building crew, Nelson received its first machine built trail. After a couple years in the making Turnstyles is born, the flow jump trail overlooking Nelson. The grand opening was dedicated to the late Stevie Smith. A Canadian flag is hung at the top of the trail in honour of everyone's hero and it always fires you up before dropping in.

It’s great to see facilities, bike parks, trail networks and more being created for everyone to enjoy. I know I can’t wait for more shuttle days on Turnstyles and pump track Mondays at the local bike park as well as exploring the riding all over the world!"
