Added a comment about feature TECH TALK: Air Shocks Versus Coil Shocks, What's Better? 10/13/2017 7:35 AM

The amount of leverage needed to compress the shock rises as it goes through the travel. aka: progressive. Falling rate is the opposite, leverage rate decreases. Falling is ideal only with an air shock, as it will create a "linear" rate with the natural progression of an air shock.

No kidding. He is probably the most underrated rider in World Cup. Seconded by Gutierrez and Payet. Been around a long time, always given the shit end of the stick when it comes to bikes and support, and yet still comes back and puts down lighting fast ... more »

Specialized usually supplies 2 with every nicer bike they sell. Would be nice to find them to order in bulk.

This is something that has continued to drive me crazy with Giant's entry level and women's FS bikes. Just because someone doesn't have $2k+ for a bike, doesn't mean they want XC geo and components. As a manufacturing leader, they should be leading the market in changing entry level bikes to have progressive geometry and component spec (wide bar, short stem) that any seasoned rider would want. To add, their women's bikes don't seem to follow suite along with their men's bikes in the same category; LONGer stems, steeper head angles.

Agreed, he's about as true to the original spirit of Rampage as it gets. It's a bit worrying that he's not one of the bros and I could see the selection committee leaving him out. Hopefully past results and fan support will get him in. I could see him doing well with the new format...more

Would make sense since the names are both old Shimano groupsets.

The drone is moving way to fast! We get the idea and like where it's headed. Sacrifice some of that speed for some precision flying and you'll have the next level. Reminds me of Shimano's video last year.

One thing to add, I have found Gorilla tape does not work well on Stans rims and others with beads similar to BST. The sidewall is too low and gorilla tape is too thick. Some tires will work, but most tires I've tried have a difficult time seating the bead in the limited space. For those I recommend 2 layers of Stan's tape.
Also, I personally used to use it, but now I try to stay away from trimming the wide Gorilla tape. The edges tend to fray up, stick to the tire, and just generally make a big mess. It's even been bad enough customers request us to not use it because of previous experiences on the trail changing a flat. If I do use gorilla tape, I find the 1" Handy Roll works best. Most rims internally wider than 1" are newer and have better beads and won't require tape to help raise the tire bead.

Is it just me that can't stand seeing bikes being displayed with the chain on the smallest cog? Especially when they are too lazy to cut it to length and it's still running along the derailleur cage.

The tires shown are 2.3 Minions which is standard fare still as the Wide Trail tires haven't become commonplace yet. The team here at RMB approves of this bike, weight be damned.
