I’m a bit surprised the X-Fusion Manic wasn’t included in this comparison. It’s a top performer at a bargain price, with best-in-class reliability. It even has a couple of user reviews on this site (one of which was written by me).

Also, what’s the discontinued, problem-plagued Race Face Turbine post doing here?!

On paper and from the review, this bike looks to compare well with the Devinci Troy, which you also reviewed. How do the two bikes stack up?

The end of creaking CSUs. (though so far so good on my 2017 Lyrik - so maybe already achieved).

How about 29er vs 275 test? Maybe take the top 3 29ers from this test and race them against the top three from a 275 test. Also do the same with DH bikes. Then do DH bikes against trail bikes on a DH trail because everyone says these new trail bikes descend like a DH bike and I don’t believe...more

Ok, I checked with Commecal. It’s the Grip damper. A bit too bad, considering the even cheaper “Ride” version has a Lyrik RC, which I would consider to be a higher-end fork.

I watch the hell out of BCPov. He might not be the most charismatic dude out there but the trails are amazing and it's filmed well.

There is a FIT4 sticker at the bottom of the leg on the Commencal, so unless the product photos are inaccurate, that's the damper in there.

My guess is that the fork just has the 3 modes but no open adjust, and the rear shock also lacks the open adjust, but otherwise are there any appreciable differences with how the suspension behaves compared to top versions? If not, the Commencal could pack a lot of value.

What’s the deal with the Fox Performance 36 and DPX2 on the Commencal? Is it actually of inferior performance or are the dampers the same as the top models but with less external adjustments?

Time to update your review with the use of a 16 tooth cog inserted as well as the use of the RADr cage. Your review will be drastically different as you will find that the performance is near that of the stock set up.

Alternative hyphothesis:
Lap 1: full of energy (fastest up and overall), getting to know the course
Lap 2: good level of energy, knew the descent and could push it a bit more (fastest DH)
Lap 3: he was tired

Yes, Mattcubed, we've done several long adventures aboard these tires. Following the review I switched back to a Specialized Slaughter rear in search of a bit more rolling speed, but I'm keeping the e*thirteen up front for super mega hella grip in the turns and while braking. Out of...more

Pretty sure it's an HV can. Funny that Rockshox would put a Debonair sticker on it.
