On a follow up article, how about some simple If/Then tips? Ex If you keep getting bucked on the same jump, then try increasing rebound compression on the shock/decreasing compression on the fork?

I would wait for a month review, I own a coil 36 for 2 months now (Specialized 29 coil) and the black coat in both stanchions is gone. A friend of mine (specialized mechanic) has the air 36, and he broke it every month at least once. I spoke with a "official" rider and he told me he...more

Track looks fine. They knew Leogang was on the schedule since last year- maybe instead of complaining the riders should practice pedaling hard?

Last year the riders complained about the man-made rock gardens, saying they were too easy in the dry, and pretty much a gamble in the wet. Well, it looks like the organisers listened to them and removed the rock gardens.
Careful what you wish for...

It seems like everybody is freaking about about wheelsize (boring....) can we talk about the amount of bikes running lockouts?? I'm surprised nobody has raised a fuss about them... from what it looks like, there were at least 3 or 4 different guys running

Sadly I think this guy is speaking the truth. I've played with a lot of DAQ on bikes... Other than being able to replicate DH runs on test machines (in a lab) I'm not sure how much tuning info they are gaining. Generally you end up staring at the screen and...more

So, his bike isn't ready and he doesn't like the tracks. And he wants race day schedule changes for potential weather events.

One of the best things about MTB racing (XC and DH) is the lack of regulations on the bikes from the UCI. The lack of regulations is what makes MTB racing what it is, and has allowed this sport to evolve with different types of bikes, suspension used...more

It's almost like we've learned no lesson from the whole 275 entering DH debates of 2013/14. It'll look shit, can't handle tight tracks, will ruin DH racing, not as much fun, I won't watch it anymore, there should be a UCI regulation, it's only a tiny...more

I'm having trouble with the argument that bigger wheels somehow offer too much control or stability, coming from a team that spends such a significant amount of effort suspension testing with a dedicated telemetry bike in practice, with the goal of...more

Bruni sure has a lot of skin in the anti-29er game, not sure that is going to work out well for him since he seems pretty stubborn. Also his arguments have a lot of circular logic. He has said that 29ers will make the sport too dangerous and fast,...more

You sound hypocritical Loic. You're OK with the suspension constantly improving, OK with carbon prototype everything, OK with an increase from 26 to 27.5, OK with the heaps of technology that keep air inside your tires despite what you do to them,...more
