The Syndicate have been using them. Who else? Look for the small silver bolts on the underside of the lower crown: https://p.vitalmtb.com/photos/users/2/slideshows/12521/photos/34542/s1600_slideshow_photo_1564711171.jpg?1564710869

Sounds like your memory of that Avalanche shock is fairly accurate, Mr Brines. I recently procured a used Nicolai G13 with an Avalanche Woodie (long stroke to bring travel up to 148mm) and revalved DHX, they both work better than any stock shock I've ... more »

You could get a Geometron G1 which is capable of manifesting the same geometry or a longer or shorter rear end, higher or lower bottom bracket and different travel amounts depending on how you set it up. Also, the G1 has the most advanced MTB shock available and it's a coil.

Under Isak Leivson, Pole bikes seemed to not last very long. Saw a guy with one at Beech last year that didn't make it through the day.

I don't like the looks of Poles. Give me a Geomatron.

Good ol gorilla tape. Try 28-32psi in the exo and 23-25psi in the DD. Sometimes those exo sidwalls do that sweaty thing because they are so thin, but it usually goes away after a little while.

should be about 485mm. Stock medium is 435. If that's the case, his bikes reach sits right between a Nicoalai Geometron Long and Longer, and 5mm longer than a Medium Pole Stamina.

No inserts yet, just stans race sealant with some not so secret extras. Going to give cushcore a try soon, although I am skeptical because people are still burping or losing tires with them. Might have to try some of that glue/sealant Marsh was using ... more »

The acronyms are confusing AF, TR. What is even more confusing is that Maxxis just released EXO+ with ZERO MaxxGrip compounds and they don't even make a MaxxGrip HR2. I just bought 6 new MAXXIS tires but QBP says I can't get a MAXXGRIP EXO DHR2 for MONTHS, HMU PLZ @ MAXXIS Bicycle!!

How confusing is Maxxis language? Like, seriously Colin, look how confusing what you just wrote is. Their names couldn't be more confusing.

DD ASSegai is nearly the same weight as the DH version (30 grams?) so what's the point?
BTW ASSegai Maxxgrip compound is tackier and softer than the previous DH - EXO Maxxgrip Minions.
Hint hint MAXXIS, make EXO+ And DD with the Assegai compound so we can have the best front tires again.

Agreed with Norco Dude. Maxxgrip is fine as a rear tire but way too hard a compound to run as a front tire where it's slippery. [Edit: yes that was a typo, I meant to say MaxxTerra sucks as a front tire]
