Wilson off Trek would be an interesting move.. Maybe that talk started be he won Worlds... That win would almost definitely start new negotiations unless he already signed with someone else.. I think Trek might step up on the paycheck to keep the stripes... ... more »

Fir a lot of people, that Enduro bike is a one bike quiver... DH bikes are a small niche in a niche market.. I would guess that 500 to 1 ratio is off, too... I bet it's even more..

Great podcast... I liked that instead of trying to fix all the wrongs in the world, we just looked at how to possibly make a good thing, better.

I really looked forward to hearing more since Eliot's post on social media... Besides being an amazing rider, he's a smart guy who may have experienced things at a level most of us may not have seen it..

I thought Phil brought a lot to the table.. Not just pointing out what's wrong, but offering suggestions..

Both acknowledged what is good in mountain biking and offered reasonable ideas as to how things could change.

Thanks for doing this!

I'm pretty sure as long as Greg wants to race, there's a spot for him at the Syndicate... Have they ever actually dropped anyone?

At least they finally got to post a goodbye for now message on the site... Would have been a bummer to see it go away and the last thing was something about small backpacks..

I think Bike has done a good job with building the online presence... It would seem feasible for them to continue that way...

Times are changing... Companies want to keep their cards close to their chests because the customer that just bought a bike is going to get pissed and flame the company online because they got "The old bike"... Also, production timelines are way off ... more »

I'm going to venture that most of us wouldn't notice the change...

Kind of fun to think about is the meeting where they decided to use the Bontrager name instead of the Trek name for their tool storage solution.

Some interesting discussion..

I don't necessarily think that they are 2 different sports, but they do appeal to different groups. The traditional bike riders tend to enjoy the suffering a bit. The ebike takes away that suffering. It makes things more accessible to more people.. But, there is a downside to that... Your Moab story is a good example... Some of these people don't have any respect for the outdoors.

Will the ebike kill the mountain bike? Probably not. If they could hit $2500, it would see sales jump... But, what would they have to sacrifice to get there? If money wasn't an issue, I would get one. But, I would like to get my wife one.. And, at one point, age will catch up with me, so at some point, there will be one in my future.

Cool story.. I have a customer who bought a ebike back in November and has lost 100lbs since then... The ebike let's him ride every day. And now he's building up regular bikes to get add to his ebike...
