The upside is if they bolt her back together, recovery time can be rather quick.. i did mine years ago and was pedaling in about 2 months after surgery...

I did a little research... the KTM rated at 12hp with a peak rating of 24hp, weighs 245lbs, and isn't limited to 20mph.. A class 1 ebike, less than 1hp, weights around 50lbs, limited to 20mph, and must be pedalled to make it go... The interesting spec... ... more »

Those are out there... They are classified as electric motorcycles... KTM makes a pretty cool one... And if you have ridden an ebike, you would find out you still get a workout... It just doesn't have the same intensity..

Since the mullet bikes seem to be a thing that some are trying to make happen... When will they stop trying to adapt an existing model and just go from the ground up with something designed around the mixed wheel size?

Personally, I don't have an issue with class 1 ebikes on trails. They are no faster than a regular bike on a downhill and a strong rider can still go faster up the hills.. There are several KOMs on climbs I couldn't touch even with the help of an ebike. ... more »

That's if specialized has the same game plan as you...

Cody on Specialized isn't crazy... They can use him in the North American series where he'll get better results.. Plus, for video parts and helping with product development, he'll be great!

At the end of the day, he went where there was a paycheck to be found... The PR says he may still do a couple of DH races depending on the schedules... Would you rather get paid to ride EWS or privateer it on the DH circuit?

A couple of thoughts on the Santa Cruz/ Nina situation.. At this level, adding another rider doesn't just happen.. All the team sponsors also have to willing to step up with additional support... Maybe since 3 riders is the comfort zone for Santa Cruz. ... more »

Wow, I really just had to stop listening. I’ve never heard so much raw opinion, covered up with “just my personal opinion here”! Seriously, does nobody get that the “sport” of mountain biking is also just something people do for fun? It’s not dumbing things down, it’s...more

The Slash is the only FS bike in the left in the Trek line that hasn't seen an update... Considering that the latest Fuel got pushed a bit closer to the Slash, I'm interested in what happens with this new version...

My issue isn't so much with "flow" trails, but the "dumbing down" of existing "non-flow" trails that have been ridden for years. Taking out rocks, roots and other technical features to sanitize the trail drives me nuts. Groomed flow trails definitely have a place, as...more

It is... I was trying to do some radio work years ago and listening to my tapes to try and critique them hurt.. Even watching videos of my race announcing.. I can't do it.. I read about an actual scientific
explanation of this years ago... I wish I could remember it... Also, I didn't realize how long I've been hanging out on Vital until you mentioned it...

Great idea to offer the listeners a chance to chime in!

Now, the bigger dilemma for me... Do I continue to type in my answers or do I figure out a voice memo on my phone and subject myself to listening to my own voice on the recording which feels like fingernails on a chalkboard to me?

Great podcast!

The BMXer in me loves a good flow line with plenty of good jumps... A well done one still let's me feel like a kid. However, with as capable as are bikes are, I still like to spend time on harder natural trails that make you think and work to get through them.
I've also been one to say let a trail develop naturally. People get too anxious to either "make it better " or to keep it as it is... Sometimes, it's fine to let it be...

You'd be amazed at how much better parts hold up under pros than punters... Pros know how to ride better and have mechanics to keep things running right... Your average hack doesn't have the smoothness of a pro, even on a trail that is a lot easier than ... more »

I'm guessing that Jack's TLD status will depend on where he ends up... If he ends up on a team that already has a gear deal, he would probably not be able to stay with TLD..
