I'm pretty sure thats simply down to Specialized still yet to produce a tyre with a 29" casing, at least that's what I've read

Quicker process to develop/change the frame on an aluminium bike, as this is still in theory a working prototype. Long term Specialized will most likely go back to carbon, however for the time being their latest statement around the use of aluminium was they/the riders were happy with the performance/stiffness of the aluminium structure

Dream Hardtail Build - Completely Custom STP

Hey Jibb!

For context I've ridden and raced DH for around 12 years, owned a few bikes and definitely a few different pedals over the years. I'm extremely specific when it comes to set-up and keeping my bikes in good working order/taking care of them

I've had the pedals on there for around 18months now and have loved them since day 1. The grub screws have not been replaced, which I may have to do soon. I've probably averaged around 80km/week on it, with closer to 120km/week for the last 3 months. To be fair there is a rider weight limit for the pedals (around 85kg I think) and I'm sitting around 72kg plus gear. I've got a set of the ME05's on my DH bike (bought maybe 6months back) and had no issues with those either. I keep the bike in good order (clean after every ride) and am generally pretty smooth when riding, whether or not that has had an impact, who knows. like anything you'll find 50% of the market complains and the other 50% is happy, probably some pretty big common denominators in there . . . I would happily buy another set, however given the amount of spares and rebuild kit/s available I'm sure that will keep me covered if and when I need it.
