Also, if we can get 250 people to pre-order and pay in full. I'm sure we could build a Phantom V3 frame that weighs in at only 2.5lbs including shock and axle. Same geo and everything. Only caveat is this frame will only come with a 7 day warranty, and High...more

I wonder how the Knolly Fugitive ST would have faired. Mine is setup 140mm/120mm, 66.5HT/65.75HT, 76.5ST/76ST. Great test! Would love a new Banshee.

Excellent job with the review! I like the bit about actual seat tube angles. When I took the seat post with saddle mounted, off my 2018 Transition Scout and slid it into my Banshee Rune V3, the difference in actual seat tube angle was immediately apparent. Like...more

Excellent content in my hometown. Saw a lot of Hawes there, but no SoMo?

Good stuff and good riding. Loving my Titan but that Phantom is making my pants move.

As with all test Sessions, excellent work Vital! The Banshee family was honored to be a part of this one, and glad the Phantom treated you well!

My advice to people: do not weigh your bikes - unless you're trying to build up a hill-climb specific bike. There have been a lot of tests and studies about bike weight, and the consensus is, it doesn't matter nearly as much as people think it does. For some...more

Hey Blatant, well we have almost identical proportions, except I have a little more ape index than you, and I ride a large Titan with 40mm stem and feel really comfortable on it.

I really appreciate Chris’s out of the box thinking and the input and influence he’s had on bike design over the last decade is impressive and welcome. But he’s not always right and I think too heavily influenced himself by motorbikes at (all) times. If I wanna go...more

The lack of rear travel is a factor.. but the paradox is designed to be a very different type of bike, so purposefully went for short stays and much steeper angle.

Fair question... For rune we change seat angle for sizes to adjust balance slighty based on expected rider height and body position. But also when seated, the higher the saddle is,the more it will shift your arse over the rear wheel, but this is balanced by fact that taller riders will be on larger frames with larger reach... so actually center of gravity when seated remains balanced generally across sizes... of course the big factor in ths is the rider... and we can't balance perfectly for every body type. But I did my best to put the rider in a good riding position relative to wheels.

It takes a willingness to go with what you feel works best and time to test options. It's not easy to swim against the current created by some big brands and their impressive marketing, but we always try to just focus on what gives best quality of ride.

100%. Shorter offset forks help too. There is a magic ratio out there that'll get the rider close to being balanced on the bike. I'm so surprised no manufacturer has really picked up on this and reconfigured their entire lineup around this style of geometry.

What isn't very clear in any of these images I realize is that there is a huge space in front of the bottom bracket for any mud or water to fall out... much like on the Legend. I've been riding versions for nearly three years in Scotland... Trust me, mud is not my friend, but not had any issue with it.
