The lack of rear travel is a factor.. but the paradox is designed to be a very different type of bike, so purposefully went for short stays and much steeper angle.

Fair question... For rune we change seat angle for sizes to adjust balance slighty based on expected rider height and body position. But also when seated, the higher the saddle is,the more it will shift your arse over the rear wheel, but this is balanced by fact that taller riders will be on larger frames with larger reach... so actually center of gravity when seated remains balanced generally across sizes... of course the big factor in ths is the rider... and we can't balance perfectly for every body type. But I did my best to put the rider in a good riding position relative to wheels.

It takes a willingness to go with what you feel works best and time to test options. It's not easy to swim against the current created by some big brands and their impressive marketing, but we always try to just focus on what gives best quality of ride.

100%. Shorter offset forks help too. There is a magic ratio out there that'll get the rider close to being balanced on the bike. I'm so surprised no manufacturer has really picked up on this and reconfigured their entire lineup around this style of geometry.

Small rune V3's ST is 10mm longer, but thats in order to fit more seatpost in. it actually allows you to run most modern 150mm dropper post lower than the V2 due to max insertion length.

Ouch, the geo hasn't changed much if you size down. This shock location offers superior performance... (Trust me I would not have released it if it didn't!) in a stronger package with lower center of gravity, there really is no area where the performance does not improve. If your reasoning is purely due to aesthetic reasons liking horizontal shock, then fair enough, that will always come down to personal preference... but these bikes look so much better in real life than in photos. I'd appreciate it if wait until you have read some reviews and had a test ride before ruling them out... you might surprise yourself.

I'm of the same view about 29er downhill bikes and rider height. The main issue for shorter riders is tyre to butt clearance, whilst ok on trail bikes it becomes a problem on the downhill bikes due to the extra 40-50mm travel. The issue when going from...more

We weren't the first to do it, so didn't feel it was anything to brag about. It's a great finish for
a frame tho.

Added a comment about product review A shop rats bike? Don´t think so.. 5/26/2017 9:30 AM

I'm really sorry to read this.
The spitfire is a trail bike (not an enduro bike or bike of choice for days in bike parks), and based on your comment on vitals review from 2014 about how you were riding 'rowdy side of riding' with 100,000m of alpine descents already on the frame back then, it sounds like you really should have been riding a rune rather than a spitfire. We offer a very fair warranty for 2 years, and then a lifetime crash replaeent deal to our customers.
I can't find any records of multiple warranty claims, which would indicate that your friends never claimed?

I think that if you were on a rune, the bike designed for the riding you describe, that you would be a very happy customer.
Thanks for the feedback.
Keith
