Added a comment about press release New Bikes from Banshee! Introducing the All-New Titan 29 and Rune V3 9/16/2019 9:32 AM

I still like the idea of some adjustability since it seems so east to do. Or does that mess with suspension kinematics?

Gee doing his track commentary whilst not trying to die over a rock chasm that would definitely be the highlight of my life if I ever made it . Next level..

100% with you. If my dirt bike doesn't need 35mm stuff, my mountain bike absolutely doesn't. That said, though it wasn't touched on too much here, I know Deity took their time because they had similar feelings and had to figure out how to keep flex & feel in check with the larger...more

As mentioned, a 40mm stem and higher bar height calmed the front end of the SB140 down noticeably. There's some magic in having a stem length close to the offset length.

I generally agree. But all the charts I’ve seen show the spring curve getting more supportive throughout the stroke when you add a spacer and keep the same psi. So I’ve been using them to tune the spring throughout the stroke balancing them with psi. ... more »

Good topic! I've only been riding rock shox for the last while, and saw somewhere that Nico Voulioz had the mantra for his rockshox fork, "less damp, more ramp". I then experimented with wide open compression and a lot more spring pressure, plus more ... more »

Lol. Yeah, I'd like to see 10mm longer, but these aren't totally crazy short. Plus, I have a way to make them longer if I so decided I needed it.

Look at the middle to bottom of the Masters results and then realize all those guys and gals would likely have the KOMS on all top local and wider trails. Then go back and look at the top pro times. Allow the jaw to drop. The top pros are truly on another level. Very far end of the talent spectrum.

Added reply in a thread Tires and inserts 6/28/2019 4:17 AM

“Need” is one way to look at it. I certainly don’t need inserts but the performance with it is better for me. I acknowledge it’s possible I could get a similar outcome with just a thicker casing tire, but with the insert I get more rim protection and ... more »

Just started using Cushcore this season in the rear and love it. Paired it with a Minnion SS EXO to mitigate the weight increase. The upside is that running the SS at 25 psi now, it still grips/brakes okay. I'm 6'2" and 190/95 geared up. I've been fine ... more »

Interesting point. Measuring the Dust Up against a Five Ten Freerider Pro just now, there is about 3-4mm difference in height of the insole (measured from the floor). I can't say it's something that I could feel directly on the trail, but it may contribute to the slightly...more

I found that the Teva's were really tall between the outsole and where my foot was in the shoe. Essentially the distance between my foot and the pedal was a lot more than my five tens and it made for a disconnected feeling. These sound like the opposite since you found a really connected feel. Seems odd since it's the same tooling as the Tevas. But maybe the upper/insole construction are different?

so Charger 2 needed a redesign after a little over a year of being on the market? I guess it makes sense since my retrofitted RCT3 fork doesn't feel significantly better with the Charger 2 damper.

If you think that an enduro bike (any not Spé Enduro) goes down as well as a DH bike, either you never set a foot on a DH bike, or it was years ago.
