iXS | Richie Schley featuring Phobos Schleyer helmet 1
In the 90ies Richie Schley was part of the legendary "Frorider" crew and thus one of the pioneers of freeriding. The Canadian's powerful yet playful riding style is unmistakeable even today. And as Schley detests compromises not only when it comes to riding, he relies on protective gear from iXS. With the "Phobos Schleyer Edition", Richie has a lightweight and well-vented fullface helmet at hand, and its tartan design was his idea. After all, Schley demands flawless function just as much as good looks.
Richie shreds Laguna Beach, CA. Though the iXS Phobos won't be available in the USA until 2013 you can check out the the Metis and the other protective gear by visiting iXS USA.

This is a claim but I remember doing a weekend coach session in 2006 on a partial family/friend trip to Whistler and he was one of our coaches. Whistler was way beyond anything we expected being from NH and all but he and Billinghurst were the best. They took us down D1, Schleyer, the Canadian DH trail and another rides that we never thought we'd ever be able to ride properly. To be honest seeing him was the first time I was ever star struck by someone, haha. I think it was the second year that the Garbanzo expansion was open as well... way too many perfect trails to remember, haha.
