I would be interested in getting some more details about this accident. The crash itself looked benign but had disasterous consequences. What part of the bike caused the laceration, where there bar caps installed, what led to the crash, etc. If anyone has any information on this, it may help prevent some future accidents like this.

That is unreal! So much blood from handlebars to the groin. Was he running bar caps?

What makes this harder to watch was the fact that we have a riding buddy, a very good friend, who actually passed away years ago due to the same injury (ruptured his femoral artery after crashing on a DH practice).

I only watched this once just in case if this ever happened. That was the gnarliest video... almost couldn't take it. The blood wasn't bad, that was shocking, but hearing them talk during it all just gave me such a disturbing feeling in my stomach. That is so scary. So happy he recovered.

Same here man - Cedric is a beast - he shows that staying calm and composed is the best way to stay alive. Hope he recovers well and takes it easy!

F'yeah to Cedric and friends for staying so calm in a life & death situation! Truly life saving. Cedric owes you guys a beer (or three)!!!!

And thanks for showing this video with tips on what to do, as it is not as uncommon as we think.

I took a handlebar to the groin, on a single speed, going uphill, and the bar had an ODI locking grip and end cap on. It went in 6cm, the MRI showed it 1cm short of the femoral artery. I got lucky compared to Cedric.

Sh!t happens. Stay safe & know what to do & have fun!

Damn.. Cedric has not had much luck over the past few years. That didn't even appear to be a serious crash and he almost died from it.. Does anybody know how he is doing now?

He's been back and ripping on his bike for a bit now.
