Inthebay, I totally agree with you about giving acknowledgement to the local builders, we try to thank them if they're there and if they're not we really appreciate, trust me. Like I said it was the first time we have dirtjumped all year for most of us! To Luke Brennan sorry for the miscommunication, here trails means big bike trails haha. Unfourtunetly here in Richmond we have a severe lack of jumps, in fact right now all of our are about 2-3 feet under water! We love to ride flowy jumps, it's just getting to them that is tough, and making them is even harder. Come spring time we will be able to do things in that direction.

By trails I didnt mean singletrack or downhill. I meant dirtjumps that have some techincal side to them. Chill out

Yeah, well we've all moved to more private jumps that are locals only. I know you dont mean to nudge out the other locals when you ride, its all good, but maybe even a little recognition of the locals would be nice . Hell throw in a shot of the local crew and everyone is happy Riding is riding, its all good stuff. It sucks that they got plowed, but some people just couldnt stand them not being gaps (personally i will go above and beyond to keep jumps tables, it feels less sketchy to me) Its kind of stupid to fix what isn't broken, but what can you do right? Just get out of public land and keep the big stuff to those that can ride it. The only major thing that bugs me is the lack of support from Coquitlam for youth recreation. Like, I get it, you want to keep them tables for insurance issues, but if the locals (me/we) dont want to keep it a table, there have to be some measures you can put in to keep it safe other than plowing the jumps. Lafarge is the only real set of dirt jumps in Coquitlam, and on the Lougheed side the there is an EXTREME lack of riding. For me, it takes at LEAST 30 minutes to get anywhere rideable (I'm a 5 minute walk from the Lougheed Skytrain) and it really sucks. I think the municipality should be doing more to encourage our youth to be active, and less to destroy what we already have. And when you think about it, with jumps that size, it doesn't really matter if they're tables or not, if you come up short, you're going to get hurt either way.

That's my riding rant for the day

If biking is a business to you then I am terribly wrong about the way the biking world works.

Don't get the wrong impression. Each one of us owns a full shock bike and we get out to the local trails every opportunity we can! However, recent rains and the lack of shuttles have put a damper on the trail riding. For most of us this was the first time we have dirt jumped this year! Also what? We never act like we own the jumps in my opinion. We pick up shovels to fix the jumps and we love more people riding, the more the merrier. I am sorry if you got the wrong impression. P.S. In some ways Lafarge is local to us because as of right now all Richmond jumps are flooded and those were the closest jumps we could ride and it sucks that they have been plowed.

big tricks sure... but you guys should try just riding your bike and flowing around. Maybe ride some trails instead of "dirt jumps". You never know, you might like it.

What really blows is that the park just got plowed due to liability issues, the City would no longer accept the risk of having gap jumps.

Kind of annoying because these guys aren't local. They come out to Lafarge and say "photoshoot" like they own the jumps and no one can ride. Editing is nice, and good videography, but I don't like the way they do business
