Helmet-clad racers speeding around on mountain bikes is about the last thing you’d expect to find on the grounds of a Buddhist temple. The Red Bull Holy Ride, coming up on its third year, is a downhill bike race through some of Japan’s sacred sites. This year, the event took place at Katsuo Temple in Minoh City, Osaka. Racers sped across the hundreds of steep steps leading up to the temple and make their way through tight turns.
Get ready for the Red Bull Holy Ride 2013. It's got tight corners, slick rocks and a hell of a lot of steps. A week ago Filip Polc was in Mexico. This past weekend he was at the Red Bull Holy Ride near Osaka, Japan. It was held in the beautiful location of the Katsuo-Ji Temple and was bathed in tradition. The competition ran 120 riders four at a time until the semifinals where it became a heated dual race, mano a mano. Rainy and misty weather made it a bit tricky, especially on all the rock pavement. Filip ended the season on a high, taking the win. Here's the video of his run. Red Bull Holy Ride 2013 | Polcster's Ride, Ep. 2
