How I fractured my pelvis (and ribs).... 12
My stupid wreck on Avery trail in Crested Butte, CO. I had heard of a couple pros gapping this whole rock garden at the last ProGRT, so I decided to give it a shot. On my first attempt I hit it pretty clean but just barely cased the last rocks. On my second try (here) I think I tried to give'r just a little too hard on takeoff - sending me into a costly nose-dive. Thanks to Quinn Maxwell of Rated [G]ravity for the vid and Grassroots Cycles for the trip! Noah Sears: MRP JETT DT-SWISS GIRO

Thanks for the positive vibes guys! Yeah, total bummer - but oh well. Gotta roll with the punches. Could've been worse, why the heck wasn't I wearing my Leatt?!

That was 2 weeks ago today, hopefully just 6 more before I can get on a bike again. Yes, I rode down from there - it was miserable (that section is pretty much the top of the trail). I went to the ER the next morning since I couldn't put any weight on my right leg without nauseating pain, that's when I found out I had two fractures (right pubic rami and acetabulum).
Crutches blow, BTW - even with sweet Vital stickers on 'em.
