When you're Sam Hill, even your crashes look smooth. It's hard to tell exactly what happened but the wash out to tumble could have ended much worse!

Most of us would have gotten launched at least 15ft off the trail. He made a pretty gnarly crash look and seem somewhat pedestrian. Hart's crash looks REAL gnarly - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=zrPJKkLmOzw
It would appear Grammyx was Johnny-on-the-spot...perhaps the Parkins could use an extra brother?

It has to be said between this crash and that near death one at Valnord a few years ago, he does pretty well when it comes to walking away from big stacks! must have a good knack for the ol' tuck and roll. But yes, this cost some serious time, he must have been on a flyer!

That was a horrific crash, but as soon as he was up and rolling again, he was definitely rolling again! Dude, Hill is going to win one of these world cups again at some point. It's just a matter of time now. And honestly, that would be cool to see him on top again.

well, seems the crash cost him roughly 20 seconds, could have been a winning run... could have...if he would have found another 3 seconds somewhere
6/18/2013 2:22 PM
I'm sure he didn't push hard for the rest of the run knowing it was already lost. I think if he hadn't crashed he would have had good chances of winning...

Sam was second at the top spilt by a very small amount of time. It's safe to say he was on pace.

I've been wondering if it is; on pace for the top of the podium, or on pace for a crash.
The riders must do some gamble of risk/reward shooting for the podium.
I'm a classic over-rider of my skills in races. So easy to push too hard.
