Bridge Collapse on I-5 Near Seattle - Be Aware If You're Driving to Whistler 11

Thankfully there were no deaths or major injuries to report with this news! A bridge on Interstate 5 over the Skagit River, North of Seattle, near Mount Vernon, Washington has collapsed. There are detours and alternate routes nearby. If you're heading to or from Whistler on the 5, expect delays and additional trip times all summer long.

    An even better reason to rearrange your travel plans and take the route through Port Angeles, ride the awesome surrounding trails or backpack for a few days in Olympic NP, then catching the ferry to Vancouver Island --> Mainland! Makes for an amazing leg of the journey!

    Yeah, it was Friday morning and it seems like they still needed to fine tune things. Getting back onto the hwy northbound was really bad, I should have driven 1 turnoff further north to avoid the cluster****....

    Dam I just drove all the way here from queens ny. Now turning around no whistler this time. Dam hippies building bridges out of doobies.
