Video Vault: 2001 UCI World Cup, Durango Colorado 12

Ten years ago, the World Cup was just as exciting as it is today. This ancient clip features some of the most insane Dual racing, one kick-ass downhill track, suicides, x-ups and manuals during races, the first prototype Santa Cruz V10 bikes and more. Time flies, just like Mick Hannah.

that grassy roller where Rockwell did the scrub whip fade away was one the funnest part of that track for me, high speed floating weightless turning only inches from the ground but traveling forever.

No doubt! Fast is fast, huh? Doesn't matter if it's 2001 or 2011. Sick!

Durango...Oh Durango, I miss you sooo much. I miss your long huge blind cliff hucks, your rooty goodness in the aspens, your wide open drifty off cambers. Please come back to me. Please.... I'll never forget our special moment up top where you let me cheat death. Wow..has it really been since 2003?

So much loam! So many Tazers! Bring back Durango and Grouse Mountain! This section is still amazing to watch, unlike dual/ 4X. I'm so glad that sideshow is gone.

The riding level doesn't look old school at all. The only thing that dates this is the race format, bikes and kit. Still plenty of roost in there.
