Stair Smashing Action - City Downhill World Tour, Santos, Brazil 2

Video file

The 2015 City Downhill World Tour got off to a flying start in Santos, Brazil this past weekend, for the classic Descida das Escadas de Santos. Strong sun and a steep track saw the action heat up quickly, as 58 riders from 8 countries took the start.

Mick Hannah from Australia, racing for Hutchinson UR Team had bad luck with lost luggage which left him without a bike until Saturday. He managed only 3 training runs and didn't make it into the big finals, testament to the competitiveness of the series. That left Filip Polc, Tomas Slavik, and Johannes Fischbach to battle it out for supremacy over the stairs.

The top 10 riders moved on to a semi final, to select the fastest 5 for the final. In the end, Filip Polc was victorious, once again, with Slavik and Fischbach rounding out the top 3.
