After using the same pair of Burgtec pedals for 4 years, Matt Thompson decided it was time to share the love by distributing Burgtec components in the U.S.A.
It's great that they're distributing directly to the US now, but it's still WAY cheaper to buy their stuff from CRC online. The shipping isn't even that much cheaper.
I guess you don't need a really high quality pedal to ride dirt jumps and "urban"... unlike plowing through rocks on a downhill bike where a single pedal spike can crunch the pedal body or shear a spindle but some folks can't appreciate that fact and that's a bummer.
If you can't see the benefits of a Burgtec pedal then just wait a few years. People who shred hard are not gentle to their pedals and for them, Burgtecs are just swell.
i think the weight reduction comes from your wallet. looks like a solid product but how can they justify the cost? id take a pair of specialized lo pro mag 2's 17.5 oz and $85. (the MK3 is 19.36 with cromo spindle) i guess the extra $150 must be covering the 3 year warrenty. i think thats a bummer. nice try
