I've been asking the brands I sell to make their bikes longer for years. This is why. Its not cause I'm some long-armed wookie, its because I want to run a short stem without shrinking the cockpit. I even went so far as to get a custom Ventana El Ceurvo DH bike made. Long bike, short stem, more stability at higher speeds. With the improvements in suspension the bikes need to evolve to handle the higher speeds allowed. This is the right direction. I don't know about zero length, mainly for adjusting the stem height on the steerer tube, but definitely shorter.

makes a lot of sense about the stem length too. how long has moto been putting the bars directly above the fork?

Stoked to see and hear Fabien--he's the best. He's also super meticulous with set-up. I remember an article in Dirt when he was with Kona and all the crazy mods he did to the Stab to make it a world champs bike. He also did some nutty mods at the Canberra worlds a few years back--a lot of which resemble the bike in this video (although it was a Summum).

Sounds like the next step in the "short stem, wide bar" movement in all mountain riding. Basically updating the rest of the bike's geometry to optimize that concept. I'd love to ride one, but I know I'll never find a Mondraker dealer anywhere near where I live.
