Yep they rate the trails for tourists,Winter Park doesnt have anything to steep or nasty ..in my opinion they need to make trails just a touch steeper....but still a fun park for sure.

Rad! Riders always win when trail-crews get to design the flow... forget oversight and risk-management!

    Nice B.J.'s!

Looks fun. They should let the trail crew design more trails.

Double Black? Is that a joke?

I believe they rate difficulty mostly based on the man made features. So a mandatory drop or gap automatically is rated pretty high on difficulty. Gotta think about all the less hardcore mtb'ers that rent a demo bike for the day.

agree w/ 970... some of those doubles looked decent size, so gotta let the n00bs know what they're in for.

Eh, none of the actual gaps looked bigger than 12-15 feet, tops. Calling that stuff double black gives people false confidence when they encounter an actually challenging trail, very dangerous

Just as a double black at an east coast ski resort is nothing like a double black in Colorado, a DB at WP is nothing like a DB at Whistler. In the context of other WP trails, this one is DB. This trail at Whistler would be single black or blue I guess?

No go-arounds would be my guess...

Yeah, there were not any go-arounds on the trail. They will likely still be adding features to the bottom of the trail. For a trail at a bike park, there are a few mandatory gaps that are not super easy and you would not want to case, especially that one at the exit of the right 180 berm. The trail is definitely a ton of fun and while it's not steep, it does keep you on your toes.

It's double black in relationship to other WP trails.
