Crash Update with Griz

Our main man, Sean "Griz" McClendon took a big digger at National Champs, shattering his pelvis and his collarbone. We caught up with him at the hospital in Denver yesterday to see how he's doing. Give him love in the comments and get him back to Pine Life mode asap. He goes in for surgery today (Tuesday), so wish him well. Heal up big man! Credit: gordo

heal up my mas. I cut my spinal cord in 3 places and dislocated 3 vertebrae and was told by 2 doctors I should not be able to walk. I am walking and flowing on my bike like it was just a bad dream. you'll get better so just don't loose faith in your body's ability to heal!

Brutal. Can't believe how many people got busted up this weekend. Griz I snapped a femur and broke my pelvis with a big acetabular fracture (hip socket) skiing, and once they bolted me back together I was riding a bike on the road within 2 months and on trail within 3 months. Get back on it!

Brutal - heal fast! Seems like there's been all kinds of folks going down hard this year in general. Seriously, more than what I'm used to seeing. It's just he nature of the beast and eventually that beast must feed. I'll be sure to throw some runs down at the NW Cup this weekend for you, as well as all the other downed riders.

    Everybody's letting it hang!!

I was there as you went down. No one ever wants a fellow biker to go down, especially as hard as you did. Good vibes and best of luck with your recovery, mate.

watching this tied my stomach in a knot. reminiscent of the day I shattered my heel/foot - being in limbo and not knowing what the outcome will be is a very tough spot to be in.

Wishing you the best Griz - knowing how stubborn you are, I'm sure you'll make a full recovery.
    Sending you healing vibes...
