2012 Crankworx RockShox Ultimate Pump Track Challenge Course Preview 5

Strolling through the Whistler Village, we happened upon the new Crankworx RockShox Ultimate Pump Track Challenge course. Kenny Smith and the boys were barbecuing and laying down some of the first laps just to make sure things worked well. So many options in those rhythms! The format looks to be head-to-head, slalom style, with riders starting on top of a platform and dropping in for an initial speed boost. Expect things to get way faster once the dirt gets packed a little more.

Who's your pick for this event? Think Mitch Pump-elato and Jill Kintner will take it for the third year in a row, or will new champs be crowned?

It all goes down on August 16th at 8pm in Olympic Plaza.

Looks like a bmx course, rather than pump track I like the idea of timed or pursuit competition.

I like that they brought the pumptrack down to the village though. I'm not sure what the contraints were (dirt, space, rules, time) but last years course was a super amazing design. Hopefully they can combine the best of both worlds

looks more like a really short, kinda lame bmx track.

Looks fun, but I prefer the old style tracks. Where the race seemed to be against the clock.

Could be better for racing but if a rider crashes in front and crosses your race line its going to end badly, also possiblilty of one line been faster than the other.
