Continental Der Kaiser 2.4 Projekt Apex Tire
The Good
A fast rolling Enduro/DH tyre.
Grips beautifully in mud, gravel, grass, sand and on rock, wet rock, hardback and urban terrain.
Long lasting compound.
Very puncture resistant.
Looks very professional on any bike.
Black Chilli is magical, it seems to be an optimum balance between grip and longevity.
The Bad
There is no bad.

Der Kaisers are used by the Athertons. It's easy to see why. This tyres grips and rolls in spades.

DMR Bolt Frame
The Good
Short and responsive, you only need to wish a Bolt through technical terrain.
No chain growth, this frame lets you put power down over anything without pedal kickback.
Simple single pivot is a joy to maintain with incredibly long lasting 6808 2RS main pivot bearings around the BB.
Integrated tapered headset is easy to find and install, no special tools, no tight squeezes.
The Suspension is very placid, it barely bobs but responds very smoothly and predictably when things get bumpy.
This frame turns heads, there aren't many like it.
Jumps just like a DMR should but with less stress in the knees.
While 125mm seems like short travel, this frame feels like an enduro with way more travel thanks to the smooth operation and concentric pivot.
Plenty of space for 2.4" enduro tyres (I'm running Continental Der Kaisers).
Climbs very nicely.
Open to any fork you like with choices from 120mm up to 160mm and a tapered headset.
The swapouts open up more options including 12x135mm, 12x142mm, 9mm horizontal, 9mm vertical and a 12x142mm +8 swapout which pushes the rear wheel back 8mm to allow the use of 27.5 wheels or greater mud clearance, a 2.6" 26 wheel fits perfectly.
200mm shock size makes upgrading the shock very easy and the frame can fit a 205mm shock with minor geometry changes.
Ultra low standover allowing unobstructed movement.
Bomb-proof tough.
The Bad
30mm seat clamp is hard to find, I ended up forking out for Hope.
On the heavier side.
Overall Review
An awkward seat clamp and bit weight are hardly a problem. This frame is truly all mountain and does so with grace and speed. An easy frame to ride and maintain.

6D ATB-2T Open Face Helmet
Overall Review
Most riders probably consider safety features to be among the top criteria when choosing a helmet. Fit and form are obviously up there as well, but function remains the most important of the 3 F’s and 6D for one has always been about the search for maximum user safety. The new ATB-2T hides an impressive plethora of innovative safety features behind that somewhat non-descript model name, so we were eager to put it to the test to see how it would perform out on the trail. 2022 Mondraker Summum Carbon R MX Bike
Overall Review
Mondraker’s Summum downhill bike has deep roots in racing, blasting onto the scene back in 2009 under Fabien Barel. The inaugural model introduced some very progressive geometry (at the time) and Mondraker’s ZERO Suspension Design that has gone on to define the aesthetic and performance of Mondraker bikes. After over a decade of evolution, changes have become subtle. Still, the latest Summum Carbon model features multiple frame tweaks and adjustability options that have kept it at the pointy end

Overall Review
Nukeproof Bikes have an illustrious heritage between the tape, from their carbon and titanium frames in the 90s, to developing components with the Chain Reaction Cycles-Intense Team in the 2000s, to producing bikes that have stood atop multiple World Cup and Enduro World Series podiums throughout the last decade. While many racers have contributed to Nukeproof’s successful timeline, arguably none have been as impactful as Sam Hill. A true living legend within mountain biking, Sam played a

Vital Test Sessions - Canfield Jedi 29
Overall Review
In the world of mountain biking, few brands have built a hardcore cult following in downhill and freeride like Canfield Bikes. With a legacy dating back to the late '90s and the inception of Red Bull Rampage, Canfield's downhill pedigree was built on hard-charging bikes with a reputation for having a smooth and capable suspension design, industrial aesthetic, and bombproof durability. With a lot to live up to, the new Jedi 29 carries the torch for its predecessors, boasting a raw and rugged look

First Ride: Manitou Jack Dropper Post
Overall Review
If you’ve followed our dropper post coverage for some time, you’ll know that BikeYoke’s Revive is sitting pretty atop the leaderboard of our big shootout feature, and with good reason: the Revive is smooth, solid and extremely reliable, which are all desirable yet not always common attributes in a dropper. Add to that the innovative Revive feature, an external bleed valve that allows you to reset the hydraulics if any air should manage to work itself into the system, and you’re looking at the
