Answer ProTaper 780 DH Handlebar

“780 hangers!”

C138_99727920_1267162626

The Good:

wide, clear measurement marks for cutting, nice bend, stiff enough for DH and hucking, but has slight give for vibration assist.

The Bad:

paint scratches a little too easily

Overall Review: Very good handle bars that give you comfort and control in a sweet looking package! at 780mm these bars are some of the widest on the market, but that doesn't mean some of us shorter riders cant cut the down a bit with the easy to use cut markers.

Intense Tire Systems Invader Tire

“invade this!”

C138_89594440_1266960983

The Good:

excellent tire, good tread pattern, sticky rubber that doesnt wear out so fast, solid performance in most conditions.

The Bad:

haven't found any yet

Overall Review: very good all around tire. it has a great tread pattern to begin with but it can easily be altered with the good old side-cutters to make it perform in varying conditions! the rubber compound might not be as soft as competing companies but it performs as well as or better than the others, plus they last longer!!! they rock in 90% of conditions riders and racer come across and with some creativity can be a mud tire too!

ODI Ruffian Lock-On Grips

“Ruffian report”

C138_ruffian_lock_on_grips_130mm

The Good:

Very nice grip compound that is sticky and soft so you dont slip at all and have small vibration absorption. solid proven design. small diameter fits smaller hands and reduces arm pump. can be customized to match you bike or patriotism!!!!

The Bad:

bummer when the white ones get dirty. scratching the personalized laser etching!

Overall Review: Great grip that has been tested and used by pros for many years and for good reason. they are awesome!!! weather you are dong DH, dirt jumping, XC or even trials these grips will let you feel in control!!!

FOX 36 Talas 160 RC2 Fit Fork

“Downhill is pushing it...”

C138_fox_36_160_talas_fit_rlc

The Good:

Great weight, great adjustibility, super stiff, Low speed damping great

The Bad:

High speed damping can get overwhelmed(DH) when pushed...but it is an air spring. The FIT system should improve that

Overall Review: This fork has worked great for me, I've had it on a Wildcard which I used for trail, DJ and DH. I've carried it over to my Santa Cruz Blur LTCarbon. The 3 settings (100,130,160mm) make it a great investment for a carry over to your next bike. The travel setting tended to wander during the heat of battle at Blue Mountain in Ontario...not a gnarly hill.

2011 Santa Cruz Nomad Freeride Bike

“2010 Nomad”

C138_santacruznomad

The Good:

Proven design - really does pedal well without giving up too much small bump sensitivity.
Weight (7.5 lb frame w/Fox DHX Air, Size L). Great looking frame and easy access to the shock.

The Bad:

Flex - why no 12mm rear option? Also would like a steeper seat tube. -1 star

Overall Review: Build is 32lbs with still capable parts. Fox 36 Float and DHX air rear well balanced. I can see myself riding this frame for years as a fun, capable trail bike. Build recommendations: I put a zero stack headset, a short stem, and a flat bar to bring the front end down and really like the cockpit feel. For sizing, I usually choose a meduim frame for DH steeds, but the Large Nomad fits short so was spot on for me (6' tall).

Race Face Ride Crank

“Race Face Ride DH Crank”

C138_2014_crk_ride_nw30t_blk

The Good:

Very strong, Cheap, can take SO! much abuse

The Bad:

not the lightest, not the heaviest, but still heavy.

Overall Review: Best crank I've ever had. Lasted two seasons, riding around and 2 weeks in Morzine. looked no older then a few weeks when I sold them, and bought a new pair after. 5stars

FOX 40 FIT RC2 Fork

“Fox Racing Shox 40's RC2”

C138_31ypohcqunl._ss500

The Good:

the plush, light, strong and very adjustable.

The Bad:

there expensive to buy and cost alot to service (which is twice a year)

Overall Review: ill give it 5/5 because the feeling of racing and riding them is worth the costs to even have a pair.

Marzocchi 888 RC3 EVO Titantium Fork

“888 RC3 EVO Ti”

C138_92830710_1266894008

The Good:

good price and plush

The Bad:

heavy and the air volume adjuster clicks when the suspension is compressed. I truly think the air volume adjuster is just a gimmick cause you don't feel a difference if its all the way in or out. Mine has already been sent back n it still does the same thing.

Overall Review: If you want a heavy fork that makes a lot of noise it is perfect for you. Than again maybe i just got a crummy batch of forks
