The Good: Has all you need, for a good price.
The Bad: What if your not small medium or large?
I am a bit of a baller on a budget, and after riding non carbon for 4 years i decided to upgrade, and immediately decided on the Remedy because of its iconic image. So many people have ridden the remedy and for good reason, its light, durable, and breathes quite well. I have had some long days with this on my head, and its the type of helmet you dont feel the need to take off going up every run. Also for me, the clip is much better than the D loop, i find that a hassle and the clip is all you need to keep it on. Also great fit for a wide range of goggles.
The only issue i have with this helmet is the minimal size range. Maybe it is more cost effective for Giro to offer 3 sized however for me the large was way to big, and the medium is a bit too snug. A M/L would be so perfect, but is it too much to ask? Also I didnt find the sizing chart to be 100% accurate.
In conclusion, i would totally recommend this helmet to anyone, budget in mind or not however make sure to try on the helmet before purchase because it may not be right for you.
The Good: Nice ventilation, washable pads, fits my Smith goggles well. Fits my big head. has survived a number of big hits.
The Bad: Not quite as light as other CF helmets. Some of the color/Graphics sets are a bit much.
My 2010 model did everything I could have asked it to, it held up to a number of big hits on rocks. There was abrasion to the shell down to the Carbon Fiber, but it is still structurally intact. I got this to replace my fiberglass Giro that had done it's tour of duty and survived.
Good ventilation and fits all the goggles I have ever tried with it.
I will happily be replacing this one with another shortly.
