Race Face Cinch BB92 Bottom Bracket

I bought this to replace the stock Sram bottom bracket that came on my Devinci Troy. It was made of plastic on the cups where it mates to the frame. It was a spot that cause creaking after a short time. The offering from Race Face has aluminum cups that seem to have better tolerances and also have less tendency to creak. It is also supported with a plastic center piece that doubles to help keep water away from the bearings.

These cups came with good instructions from Race Face and I did not need a bottom bracket press tool for installation on my frame. I would still suggest using one though just to make sure everything goes in straight. I put a little grease on the outside of the cups to help make sure they stay quiet. The bearing have gone through a good bit of mud since this spring and are still running smooth with no maintenance other than cleaning off the outside of the seals every so often. They have only been removed and pressed back in once and have not developed any creaking so far.

The only thing I would change with these, or any pressfit BB is to have a way to screw the two halves together for a bit more piece of mind to make sure they are secure and do not walk inside the bikes BB shell. If you are tired of your current PF bottom bracket making noise, I believe these are definitely worth a go.
