Eastern Nightrain Wheels and Bars
There's nothing better for the winter blues than adding some color to your whip. My dirt jumper just got a KILLER upgrade courtesy of Eastern Bikes. They sent over a set of Nightrain wheels and bars in blingy red.I just threw the wheels on and will get some time on both the bars and the wheels to see how they work long term. Check out the before and after pics below...night and day (or should I say Nightrain and day?).
In addition to the look, I'm stoked because the wheel swap really makes my build more legit. When I built the bike a couple years ago, I just got some really cheap wheels to get the job done so I could ride the bike. They weren't made for the job, but I never got around to changing them.
My original rear wheel had a Shimano XT 9-speed rear hub with a bulky, solid, bolt-on axle and nuts, casette spacers and a cog. Now I'm on a true single-speed hub setup with a nice compact driver (12t) via the Nightrains. The chainline is dialed and I think I saved a little bit of weight considering the nuts and axle on my original rear hub set up.
Stay tuned for some longer-term updates, but for now get the stats and wipe the drool off your chin.

Make those bars 30" wide and I'll be all over em. 29" would be formidable.

@crazybacon. i don't think i save remarkable amounts of weight, but there is a small difference. my original rear wheel also had a big spacer/chainguide thing that was pretty bulky.

The weight on those wheels probably didnt save you a sh*t, more durability and function but those wheels weights more than the previus... if it is EN321 rims im watching.
