Blinky too? Smith last year, tracks and UCI need the big endo and fast otherwise next we will see the return of the skin suit and dropper posts and slick tires!

He did it to be consistent and capable of running with the likes of Gwinn, Minnaar, Atherton, Peat, Hannah, etc.. You can't win the overall title today on flats - . Recreational - do what you like. One off events, maybe, unless it's a peddlers course. Think anyone on Flats is going to win Peiternmaritzburg? Not going to happen.

Clips for racing, but nothing beats flats for everything else when no one's looking at the clock

http://www.chainreactionhub.com/images/news/crcnukeproof/crcvisit13/teamcrcvisitrose.jpg I think it's connected with SA worlds. I think they will stay on flats when it comes to riding typical downhill tracks

The proper title should read: Death of the Flat Pedal IN RACING. Nobody else is gonna switch

From Bryceland: "For the first time in my life I am committing to the devil pedal. Since Day one I have been a flat pedal rider and always on Burgtecs but for the last few seasons I have switched between the two undecided. Sitting down and thinking about it logically I have had all my best results on clip pedals and most of my missed opportunities have been due to losing a foot and going down. I feel like i`m selling part of my soul to the devil but I am beginning to really enjoy riding clipped in and feel my riding and racing is and will continue to benefit massively."

^ you seem like a massive douche bag. Just looked at your profile and every comment you've ever made on Vital is a steaming pile of hater.

Mallets are awesome!! Been DH'n & FR'n on them for years. Gwin approves.

Demise of the flat? That all depends. If the UCI has its way, they'll all be riding cyclocross bikes, doing laps on only the flat sections of PMB, and with fully stocked water bottle cages... until they make those illegal too. So maybe Brook has seen into the future and is preparing for the boring pedalfest/finefest ahead.

They're all getting ready for the DH-that-looks-like-a-bit-of-a-XC Worlds in RSA :D

I think I might even be ready to bet that a few people will run 160-180 enduro bikes there ...

As long as brendog doesn't turn we're still safe.

Once upon a time he was also a clipped in racer before he was a flat pedal racer.

Is that the crank brothers DH mallet? I didn't think they had eggbeaters, thought they only made the DH in flats? If the DH now has clips....oh yeah that's the way to go!
