In the mid 2000's, Atomlab's Mike Flaherty started the Super Session concept, which brought freeriders together for a good time of riding in the off-season.
Super Sessions were all about fun with an invite list full of the best MTB shredders. Jamie Goldman working towards a Guiness World Record that doesn't exist in 2006.
As the years went on, Woodward West considerably developed its MTB terrain but Super Session fell by the wayside. On March 23-25, we're bringing this invite-only event back!
Kyle Jameson kicked his feet at the news of Super Session's return.
Adam Hauck through Jake Kinney's bike in 2006. This was Jake's first time to Woodward West. Fast forward 5 years and Jake is the MTB Director at Woodward and has been instrumental in making the invite-only 2012 Vital MTB Super Session happen.
Zach Dank wasn't new to blasting in 2006, but he was a new face to a lot of the riders. Just a few years later he and his crew are responsible for the Mega Trails at Woodward.
A young Andreu Lacondeguy railing a berm on 24-inch wheels at Super Session in 2006. Will Andreu attend this year? We're waiting to hear back (cough, cough).
The wheel size has changed, but Andreu's style and penchant for goofing off hasn't.
Griz and Hauck proving that fun is the M.O. of Super Session back in '06. These two are going to be at Woodward West for 2012 and we're all looking forward to the hijinx!
Spangler Claus made a visit to Super Session back in the day.
Even the media gets involved. Ian Hylands, doing a dumped 360 without the 360 part back in 2006.
The 2012 Vital MTB Super Session takes place on JD Swanguen's birthday. He's stoked and so are we!
JD not messing around in 2006.
Joe Perizzo flips, Cam McCaul flaps many moons ago. We're hoping Joe can make it down to the 2012 event. Unfortunately, Cam is out with injury. Maybe if you heckle him enough in the comments, he'll come hang out anyway.
Joe P's nutty hip flip!
Guy Marsh showed up and blew minds in 2006. He had HUGE bars too. Sounds like a good crew of PNW shredders are making the hike for 2012! Expect turndowns and flannels.
Guy clicking for Cam and the cam, 2006.
Does AT stand for Awesome Tuck? Andrew Taylor 2006. Waiting to hear back from you about 2012, Andy! Come shred!
Sven Martin was there. Like all good media nerds, he doesn't like to sleep in, so we were up early gettin' work done. Back lip on the jersey barrier, 2006.
Hacksaw thankful the resi ramp is not a cement fun box.
Jim Tharp, style cat from Santa Cruz. He was ready for 2012's event all the way back in 2006.
A-Rev refined as the day is long. Can't wait to see this steezer shred in March.
Cam Zink says he'll be at Super Session 2012. Probably looking for redemption on the Superman Backflip. Needless to say the sand step-up will be sessioned hard.
Greg Watts is injured and can't make Super Session 2012, but Mike Montgomery will be there and we're all wondering what he'll chuck this time!
2012 means Woodward West Mega Trails! Jake Kinney warms them up for the invited riders coming in March.
