Description

Anneke Beerten is, without a doubt, one of the most diverse and well-rounded (not to mention decorated) bicycle racers on the planet. She has been riding bikes for 30 years and racing them for over 25 years. With her beginnings in BMX, after winning six national titles and two World Championship titles, she looked for new challenges and crossed over into mountain biking. After getting on to a Dutch mountain bike team almost twenty years ago (B1), she quickly made inroads into the sport. She achieved a World Cup podium in downhill but began to focus on 4X and this is where most of us first noticed her. During Anneke's 4X reign, she won countless World Cup races, three UCI World Cup overall titles, as well as World Championship gold three times. She has also competed in Elite World Cup XC and XCE with impressive results.

Once again looking for bigger challenges and the Enduro World Series forming in 2013, she shifted her full-time focus to enduro where she rejoined the Specialized Racing team. She had previously raced with them from 2004 through 2006.

Anneke is a full-on racer and thrives on competition. While it would be safer to just focus on her main discipline of enduro now, she continues to cross over. She finished with her best result in the EWS (third overall) this year but also picked up a Dutch National XCE title, a 4X World Championship title, a European Championship Enduro title and the overwhelmingly-tough Queen of Crankworx title which means a full schedule of DH, Slalom, Pumptrack and Whip Off at the three different events across the globe!

Anneke is the complete rider and shares her experiences and insight. Join us for an in-depth interview and a trip covering Anneke's journey with Specialized Racing.
