Sombrio Introduces New Line of Bike Shoes Featuring FlyerSol Rubber

Just before the Deep Summer Photo Challenge, Sombrio invited us to take a first look at their new line of shoes. In the audio, Chad fills us in on some of the details.
Entering the shoe market, Sombrio’s mission was to improve on three elements - traction, durability and dexterity. Shown here are the Float Edition Low Tops.
The entire line features an innovative rubber sole that Sombrio is calling FlyerSol, or the FS compound. It's a high-friction compound that is malleable and conforms to your platform pedals. By digging our finger nails into it, we could tell that these are some very grippy shoes.
The Slats Edition Mid Top has a velcro strap near the top to keep a snug fit.
One thing that really stood out was how light the shoes were compared to some other currently available shoes.
This is the Loam Edition Mid Top. All models feature a "progressive foil" to enhance pedal feedback.
Expected availability is Spring 2012.
The Shazam Edition Mid Top has a lace cover to keep things tidy and the mud or water out.
This pair of Shazam Edition shoes has been thrashed for several months, and they didn't show much wear when we looked at them, which speaks well for their durability. Stay tuned for more details and announcements from Sombrio.
