Lapierre's flagship Enduro bike has been completely redesigned for 2014. The Spicy now sports 150mm of travel (vs 160mm) and 650B (27.5-inch) wheels. The carbon Team frameset has been reworked to improve strength, including new bearings, pivots, tubing, and revised rear brake mount for more efficient braking. The shock shuttle is also wider to boost rear end stiffness.
For the Team model, frame weight is 5.5-pounds (2.5kg) without a shock. There will also be an aluminum Lapierre Spicy 527 and 327 available. Lapierre now uses the Supreme 6 alloy rather than 7005 aluminum.
The Spicy's head angle is set at 66.5-degrees, which is 0.5 degrees steeper than last year. Top tubes have been lengthened by 10mm for size Large and XL, while Small and Medium see an increase of 15mm. The Spicy's bottom bracket has also been lowered by 10mm across the board.
