Kyle Strait is about as local as it gets when talking about Red Bull Rampage. He's competed in the gnar-hucking event since he was practically a fetus and has won the event in years past. Check out his long-travel weapon for the fight in the desert.

-2014 GT Fury DH Bike. Frame material, aluminum
-One of the more subtle, but cool tweaks are on Strait's grips. He uses a custom ODI sleeve under the Sensus Swayze grips. This provides a bigger diameter for Strait's meaty paws. He was getting knuckle cramps and Colin Bailey thought Strait's grips were too small. Colin rigged up a mock sleeve by rolling duct tape around Strait's bars and then slid the grips over. That cleared up any cramping. Strait brought his bars to ODI, they measured the duct tape thickness and reproduced a proper sleeve. The grips are a full season old.
-RockShox BoXXer World Cup fork
-RockShox Vivid R2C rear shock with titanium spring. Kyle will run a 550- or 600-lb spring depending on how much Terrabites Beef Jerky he's eaten before competition day.
-He's beefed up the rear tire size from last year. He's gone from a 2.35 to a 2.5-inch Kenda Nexcavator RSR tire.
-Novatec Demon Wheels
-Prototype SRAM XO rear derailleur that features a short cage and what appears to be "XX1 technology."
-Truvativ XO carbon cranks
-Truvativ Boobars
-Avid Code brakes
-SDG flier saddle (he said he raised his seat height a bit...we're hoping for his trademark suicide no-handers off of massive cliffs!)
-Rove headset
-HT pedals

Go big, buddy!
