Rampage Pro Bike Check: Brandon Semenuk's Trek Session Park

View as: Slideshow | One Page
Brandon Semenuk has his Trek Session 9.8 Park ready for rowdiness at Rampage.
The Trek 9.8 Session Park model features 26-inch wheels, 190mm of travel and aluminum chain and seat stays compared the 9.9 27.5 DH which features carbon stays.
A SRAM X01 DH drivetrain keeps the rear end nice and tight.
Bontrager Big Earl rims are laced to Hope hubs.
A RockShox Vivid Air rear shock provides the ultimate in spring tunability for those massive hits and hucks.
The front end of Semenuk's Session is running high on the stanchions for those uber-steep drop-ins and lines.
We're not sure what the electrical tape on his adjuster knob is for, but we're curious for sure.
We were hoping he'd have a prototype double crown setup with break-away stanchions that allowed for barspins and tailwhips, but that's probably 2019 project.
Big meat! A 26 x 2.7-inch Maxxis Minion DHF will help him monster truck down the mountain. He's running a 2.4 High Roller 2 out back.
#moargripz Semenuk has WIDE Chromag slide-on grips. Considering how often he lets go of the bars, it's probably nice to have a little room for negotiation when his hands return home.
50mm Truvativ direct mount stem keeps everything attached.
Double bumpers. If a bike does fall off a cliff edge, it's always nice to keep things protected as best possible.
Chromag Contact pedals keep Semenuk's feet in the locked and upright position during flight.
Trek C3 may or may not claim that if you stare at Semenuk's graphics long enough, you'll see a 3D image of Semenuk on the podium.
Chromag Liason Series Overture saddle for pinching during sui's and support during the wayward foot blow-off.
Trek C3 has made one sick bike for Semenuk. Now it's time to see how it handles the ridges of Rampage during Finals on Monday.
