If you live in the Northeast it was a good weekend to be a mountain biker. Mountain Creek, Highland and Plattekill all opened up for the season this past weekend and Neko Mulally threw his annual Duryea Urban Downhill out at Mount Penn. Downhill season is suddenly in full swing out east.
The team at Mountain Creek has been making some great strides these past few years bringing the east coast’s largest Mountain Biking resort back to the top of every riders must visit lists. With one of the longest and snowiest winters ever in New Jersey, the MCBP Trail Crüe had to work double hard to deliver all 49 of the resort’s downhill trails for opening day. 5 inches of rain four days before the opening didn’t help the cause, but as a testament to the fine work these guys are doing, the resort opened on time and in great riding shape. Much to the stoke of the 400+ bikers who had lined up for opening day.
In this photo, Canfield rider, Justin Brigandi, is a regular fixture at Mountain Creek.
