The mountain bike community suffered a great loss this weekend with the passing of Will Olson. He crashed during one of his stage runs at the Enduro World Series in Crested Butte and sustained fatal injuries on Saturday. Will was a pinner. At age 40, he was smoking riders in the 30+ Vet class at the Big Mountain Enduro and won the Snowmass race earlier this year. The day before his passing, he took a 3rd place on the Doctor Park stage of the EWS. Due to the tragedy, the EWS race was canceled and our community shaken. As a tribute to Will, competitors gathered for a memorial ride to honor and celebrate his life on Sunday. Lee Trumpore and Eddie Clark help us share in the experiences and grief of the weekend, but also the camaraderie and persevering spirit of the mountain bike family.

Rest in peace, Will. You will be missed.​

THANK YOU LEE AND VITAL .this made me tear up watching this..its just SOOO amazing the support from all the riders from amatuers up to the pros. like a LOT of us here, i never met him, but as a fellow mtn. biker, hes family.. and to bonnie,my thoughts and prayers to you during this incredibly difficult time.. Oh my goodness... Lee Trumpore, Eddie Clark - THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for doing this. This is so incredibly beautiful, thoughtful, amazing. Will would be blown away. Pretty cool of you to chime in here...especially during such a hard time. I'm sure you know, but you've got an army of people behind you...even guys like me who never met Will (though our paths' crossed multiple times). Take care of yourself!

Super sad situation, and our community honored Will in the best way we could. Also, I want to give credit where it is due, Lee Trumpore shot 99% of this- well done, Lee.

By comments from those who knew him Will sounds like he was a great guy and will be greatly missed. Condolences to all. Sad that it is sometimes things like this that make one reflect on the great family/community we are all part of. We are all fortunate to be part of such a clan. Great tribute.
