@maddogboris shares a fun, intimate look into the lives of a trio of rippers as they escape winter in New Zealand.
Queenstown Living with Bernard Kerr, Bas van Steenbergen and Ryan Howard! A typical morning routine to start another day in MTB paradise features coffee on the deck and a rad Queenstown sunrise.
Before heading to Rude Rock for a wake up enduro session its time for some instagram-ammo. Bernard's old Land Rover is the sickest car in town!
Supercross replay viewing. Just because you're halfway across the world doesn't mean you can't stay informed.
Rise and shine.
If the coffee wasnt strong enough to wake you up...
"It's the sickest and best place to train and ride." -Bernard
All-time trails and all-time views with a unique crew from all different riding disciplines.
Bas lazily lifts a left leg. #stylesformiles
Rude Rock trains for life.
TCB in QT. Social media duties accomplished.
DH, slope or trail bike, R-Dog rides it all.
After the wake-up Rude Rock lap, it was time to head back to town...
Trail bike sesh? Check. Time to get more coffee and more fuel.
The job has to be done. Thanks to Vertigo Bikes getting suspension to Rupert Chapman isn't a problem.
Another part of Bernard's job is to take care of some emails between riding sessions. Luckily there are guys like Jackson Davis who interrupt him and remind him to do some laps in the bike park. R-Dog in audio.
Quick work on the bike and he's ready to go...
Pile 'em high in the 'Rover
Ride or Die at Skyline.
Bernard's teammate, Emmeline Siegenthaler in audio. If you haven't been to the Skyline Queenstown Bikepark, it feels like a World Cup with all the pro riders here.
It wasn't easy to take pics of the crew in the bike park. They just did run after run and I had to scramble to find out where they would be. It worked out though.
Girls gone wild! Vaev Veerbeck and Emilie Siegenthaler enjoying some airtime.
Jackson Davis coming close to BasĀ“s rear tire!
Bas levitates as he ponders the joys of so much good riding so close together.
R-dog hits 270 laps in the park, on his way to 300 laps!
Bernard hucks horizontally on the regular.
#onemoretimeplease
R-Dog is taking this pretty seriously! #rideordie
Jackson Davis in orbit.
Jackson Davis what are you looking at?
Lunchtime after a couple of downhill laps!
...and some love for the bikes!

Seriously, the raddest car in town!
And these are probably the raddest dirt jumps in the world. Gorge Road trails.
Yes. This is real. Bas and R-Dog.
#cantgetenough
In New Zealand, this is right-side-up for R-Dog.
Bas in the biggest berm I have ever seen!
After a good session at Gorge Road it was time for Bernard to get the moto out.
I havnt expect to get the chance to shoot Bernard doing sketchy Jumps with such a view over queenstown.
Bernard prefers this pic...
...but I prefer this one. What do you think?
To finish that day, we went to the gym to meet Bernard's trainer, Arri Barret.
Bernard is definitely putting a lot of effort in his gym session.
While Bas is getting crazy with some heavy weights.
Make him puke!
To end this perfect day in Queenstown we went for burritos with Andrew Shandro and his son Ethan.
I canĀ“t thank these three gangsters enough for such a rad time here in Queenstown. I cant wait to spend the next off-season with them here. Next stop rotorua!
Oh, and one last time, I have to tell you how much I love this beast. I'm talking about the Land Rover! @maddogboris

Description

Roaming photographer and mountain biking superfan, @maddogboris, spent a day with Bernard Kerr, Bas Van Steenbergen and Ryan Howard in Queenstown, New Zealand. The randomly assembled trio has been individually coming to New Zealand for some years to escape winter and get time on the bike, but this year, they came together for an extended stay in what they call the new mecca of mountain biking.

Queenstown features extremely diverse riding opportunities all within close proximity. Downhill, trail riding, dirt jumping and even moto can be shredded in a single day, and that's just what happened here.

Thanks to @maddogboris for the fun, intimate look into the lives of these rippers as they prepare for racing, whipping and freeriding in 2017.
