History was made with an unforgettable downhill race run by Trek World Racing's Aaron Gwin today in Val di Sole, Italy. The American took 7.85 seconds out of 2nd place Greg Minnaar on one of the most physically taxing courses on the UCI World Cup circuit. Rachel Atherton added to the excitement with a return to the top of the podium, after a long battle with injury. Later this week, the World Cup heads to Fort William, Scotland.

Gus's I have to go fire up the ol' computer and wait a half hour to watch this non-Apple supported flash player vid that my iPad won't play. It really sounds like a good one.

I was hoping there was a "high five" emoticon, but I guess we'll all have to settle for some normal praise: killer coverage, big fan of the variety of shots and audio clips.

Pumped on the shot of Hill on the second to last corner. I almost lost my coffee while watching that happen during the live broadcast when roost went flying and it looked like he was about to drift it right off the track. Wasn't sure if anyone would be shooting that corner, well done. It's good to see Sam getting loose and creative again.

Check out 0:26 - 0:29 in this clip...look how he just lets the bike hang out, snapping through that S-section....I watched pretty much everybody through there, and IMO it illustrates just how much more comiitted Gwin is to his lines. Absolutely sure that it will grip, eventually...
