Wow, this has become quite the contentious subject. I've never heard of someone hating on Martin. He's done so much for our sport. Well GoreV, Martin formed the Global Racing Team back in the mid? 90's to bring some of the young talent from the Southern hemisphere to the "Global" racing scene. A young Greg Minaar was a member of that team. I have a signed picture from him that I got at the Big Bear race that year.

Because mountain biking is such an easy thing to make money off, GoreV... wonder if you've heard of something called 'defamation'?

He helped bring our current world champion to the world stage on Global Racing. Ask Greg Minnar if he thinks he's a leech. Or Gwin for that matter. I think he's a stand up guy. I got a job interview with him in the Honda days. I got inside the first room of the secret tent though I didn't get to see any secret stuff. He let me down easy by telling me to go get certified at the Olympic Training Center before he could consider me for a mechanic position.

Orchestrating Global Racing, Honda and Trek World Racing and being a manager agent for some riders is hardly a leech. Its called successful business practices. Agents do get a percentage but he gets young riders their worth (tens of thousands of dollars more than what they can get themselves) so they can just concentrate on racing and not contract negotiations. When you are good at what you do you will always have haters and make a few enemies along the way. How many World Champs have you been to GoreV?
