It was a long day on the hill today starting with a kids race, then 4 XC races, pits, 4X and an epic edit session. Most days we never get to see lunch let alone forage for it ourselves! Photo by Gary Perkin

MSA World Cup XC is no joke...
Never give up. Guido Tschugg of Ghost Factory Racing Team went from 1st to 3rd to 2nd in this heat. Photo by Gary Perkin
Count the numbers. That's right. More than a few riders were suffering from brake fade on this long track with mix of heat and mud on the rotors. Mick Hannah opted to test some of these pizza plates. -Sven Martin
Not sure how to caption this one...comments welcome. I'm thinking that the gimp from Pulp Fiction has decided to pursue a more active lifestyle. Photo by Gary Perkin

Today was weird one. An extra day on the practice schedule so to speak. Some were chilling, some skipped riding, others used the time to do some real world testing that can't be replicated anywhere else. Fabien Pedemanaud of Scott 11 looks like he is testing some heat sensor device for Shimano, who are out here with a few engineers and product developers. -Sven Martin
The Quebec sun baked and dried the downhill course good and proper today, but weather predictions are for rain around 2pm tomorrow. Photo by Gary Perkin
We spend so much time in the big rigs and flashy pits of the big guys we sometimes forget about the privateers. Team Japan here in a less-branded pit. Gokouun o inorimasu! Photo by Gary Perkin
Some people wonder why some riders aren't featured regularly in Vital...this is sort of an example. The Kiwis and Evil riders love to practice in trains and it makes them hard to shoot. Blenki and Cole go one two. Thanks to the human MTBCut filmer reflector panels of Mon and Marshal, no flash needed. -Sven Martin

Sam Blenkinsop. Faster in slow motion than you in real life.
This one is most definitely for Damian Breach - 1/4 of a second pan. Celine Gros on her way to winning Women's small finals. Photo by Gary Perkin
Who says 29ers cant jump? Mens XC winner Jaroslav Kulhavy of Specialized Factory Racing jumps the bridge crossing on his way to the finish! Photo by Gary Perkin
Anneke had a perfect night tonight. Smooth and fast no one could touch her. -Sven Martin
Another podium champagne shot for someone before she gets married, then it's action only. -Sven Martin
After all his wins, you would think it gets old for Jared. But with a full Aussie contingent this one was special him. These are the Same Aussie super fans from Canberra World Champs Vital Coverage...committed. USA fans ain't got nothing on these guys (prove me wrong in Windham!) -Sven Martin
This is the very first shot I took today and took it without realizing who I captured. Turned out it was long-time friend Todd Seplavy and son Connor in the Shimano Kids race this morning. This is what MTB is about. Generations. -Sven Martin
Second shot I took in Shimano kids race was not as light-hearted, but this is just a stepping stone towards DH. Breed them hard while they're young and you will have some winners. -Sven Martin
The beauty of shooting under the lift is that riders see you on their way up so they throw a bit of flair into their jumps that they may not do otherwise or in a race run. Marc Beaumont knows whats up! - Sven Martin
The Athertons are one of Shimano's key teams for testing and product development. MTB hall of famer and long time Shimano skunkworks developer, Paul Thomasberg, (who has podiumed in both DH and XC at Worlds) takes some notes on some wheel and hub feedback. Progression and development is constant. -Sven Martin
Life is always good for some riders these three are no exception today. -Sven Martin
The secret behind GT's system they are running is finally out. -Sven Martin<br />
