Press Release

Three SCOTT11 Athletes on the podium at the IXS European Downhill Cup in Todtnau

Floriane Pugin wins, Nick Beer and Emilie Siegenthaler in 2nd.

It was about time for the downhill racing scene to come back to one of the most popular race tracks in Europe, the classic downhill of Todtnau, Germany.

The one man who knew this track from it's emergence, Marcus Klausmann, is probably still the fastest man on the mountain.

The other man who spent half of his racing carreer training in Todtnau, is SCOTT11's team manager Claudio Caluori, trying to get his athletes to go faster than Klausmann one of his favorite tracks.

In the qualifier, it was Marcus Klausmann who schooled his whole competition with a lead of almost 6 seconds.

SCOTT11's Nick Beer didn't feel well and surprisingly came down in 5th position.

In sunday's finals, Nick was able to step it up and ride 7 seconds faster than in the qualifier, while Marcus Klausmann had to give up the race because of technical problems on his bike. MS Evil's Brook MacDonald was the man of the day, going another 1.8 seconds faster than Nick Beer, taking the win!

In the women's race, SCOTT11's Floriane Pugin and Emilie Siegenthaler destroyed the competition. Floriane Pugin took the win with a lead of 11 seconds over her team mate Emilie Siegenthaler, who again was 4 seconds faster than the rest.

Bad news from the Junior side: Freddy Hunziker crashed while training at home last week, broke his wrist and collar bone and dislocated his elbow. As doctors say, it will take around 6 weeks for him to come back on a bike. (well, - they probably don't know Freddy!)

Next SCOTT11 action is the world cup in Fort William, Scotland! - and we all can't wait to get there!
