The new format for gravity racing, designed by Superenduro, will introduce marathon downhill to Italy.The course at Limone Piemonte has been inspected by the Superenduro team a few days ago and the race director has approved it for racing.
There are stretch of the track that have been specially introduced just for Supermountain. To encourage head-to-head racing, parts of the course have been taped as widely as possible. Where possible, multiple lines have been taped into the course too, to give riders room to battle it out with each other. Over the 950m over descending on the race course, riders will take in a variety of different terrains. From high, alpine meadows, rocky ridges and forest, they will cover 7km to reach the final sprint to the finish through the village.
If you wondering you race Supermountain, the answer is simple: it is a fun weekend of riding a bike park, topped off by two race runs on the Sunday. This weekend promises to be a weekend of riding with friends, searching for lines and competing with other riders, all topped off by chairlifts and shuttle services in one of the best mountain biking spots in Italy.The Superenduro staff are waiting for you in Limone Piemonte to begin this new adventure together!
SUPERMOUNTAIN POWERED BY SRAM PRO 3 - LIMONE PIEMONTE STARTS THE SUPERMOUNTAIN!

The first Supermountain powered by SRAM race is coming to Limone Piemonte. It will combine the fun of downhill, with the bar-to-bar fighting of marathon DH, all put together to the world-class standard people expect from Superenduro.First tried at Enduro of Nations at Sauze d’Oulx last year, there will be three races on the calendar this year: Limone Piemonte, Pila and Scopello. The idea behind the races is simple - a weekend of oracing that guarantees riders hours of fun runs on Saturday and two, high-adrenaline race runs on Sunday.
There is no climbing with this format - all the locations were chosen because they have chairlifts. This means the Saturday will be a day packed with downhill runs with no pedalling or timing constraints. All those runs will be timed though and will qualify riders for Sunday’s race.
Where Superenduro is a Sunday riding with friends on beautiful trails, Supermountain is a weekend in the bike park. The only difference is that the last two runs will be head-to-head racing, with the last man down paying for the beers. It is designed for all kinds of riders, but will suit Superenduro racers, freeriders, downhillers and bike park regulars best. Fans of marathon DH will finally have a race in Italy for them.
At Limone we expect the best Italian riders and marathon DH riders from across Europe to open this new chapter of gravity racing in Italy.

Please note that the course will be taped out and on Saturday 23 June and Monday 25 June all facilities will be opening for practicing the course. On Sunday 24 the course will still be marked, but the chairlift will only be open from 9.00 to 10.45 and from 14.00 onwards.ANDREA BRUNO IMPRESSIONS
We spoke to Andrea Bruno for his thoughts on the new Supermountain format:
“With my past as a 4X rider, I really like the idea, but you also need to be aware of what’s going on around you. You will always need to remember you are not along. Ok, it’s competition, but you must show respect and be respected to keep the race injury-free. It’s important to understand your line and give way, or ask to pass if necessary.
As the descent will be so long, you won’t be able to push all the way, so it will be important to manage your riding. On Saturday I will mainly be trying to set my bike up and identify the critical points on the track, then Sunday get on the gas.
Last year I had a bad result at the Supermountain race at Enduro of Nationas, but mainly because I went to hard at the start. I had a good run though, overtaking a lot of people. It’s definitely a race where many variables come into play and the fastest in qualifying may not be able to repeat that in the race. One thing is certain, there will be laughter and fun, and it will be great for the public to see riders in combat like this.”
