Mountain Click Photo Competition Presented by Photobucket to Award $2000 in Cash Prizes at 2012 Winter Teva Mountain Games

Alrighty pro photogs, here's a chance to scoop up some cash and attend a rad event. The Winter Teva Mountain Games are going off on February 10-12. Bike events include snow slalom, big air trick, and a snow bike crit.

Pro photographers judge event at the Winter Teva Mountain Games presented by Eddie Bauer

January 24, 2012 (Vail, Colo.) — The Mountain Click Photo Competition presented by Photobucket will award $2,000 in cash prizes to the best photos taken during the Winter Teva Mountain Games presented by Eddie Bauer, taking place in Vail, Colorado, February 10-12, 2012.

Amateur and professional photographers are welcome to enter the competition, and all competitors receive media credentials to access viewing areas not granted to the general public. After clicking their way through three days of outdoor sporting events, live concerts and mountain culture, participants submit up to three photos to a judging panel comprised of professional sport and outdoor photographers.

Photos may be submitted to the following categories:
  • Performance: Sports and action images that define the Winter Teva Mountain Games presented by Eddie Bauer. 

  • Vibe: Images that capture the Games’ mood, humor and personality.

  • Mountain Magic: Artistic, digitally altered images from the Games that make a unique visual impact.  

The independent judging panel includes award-winning photographer David Clifford, who leads Rock and Ice Magazine’s annual photo camp, Lucas Gilman, a finalist in the Red Bull Illume worldwide photography competition, and Keith Ladzinski, whom the British Journal of Photography named as one of the world’s top four adventure photographers.

First place in each category will receive $400, second place, $200 and third place, $50. Category winners will also receive a pack from Clik Elite, makers of performance packs for adventure photographers (prizes will be awarded on March 9).

People's Choice Award

A People’s Choice Award for the photo receiving the most votes on Photobucket.com will also be awarded. Members of the public have until Monday, February 20 to post their photos from the Games on www.photobucket.com/mtnclickpublic. Amateur and professional photographers are encouraged to campaign for their photos. The one receiving the most “likes” on Photobucket will win the ultimate Winter Teva Mountain Games presented by Eddie Bauer prize package: a pair of Teva shoes; an Eddie Bauer First Ascent jacket; a GoPro Hero 2 camera; a pair of Maui Jim polarized sunglasses; and a Clik Elite camera bag. The Photobucket contest winner will be announced on Friday, February 24, 2012.
