Marin Debuts the 2017 Hawk Hill 27.5 at Only $1500 USD Retail 6

Novato, Calif. – June 3, 2016 – Marin Mountain Bikes Inc. has announced the debut of the new 2017 Hawk Hill full suspension bike. The model is packed with value and allows Marin to achieve a retail price much lower than existing offerings, while still maintaining the high performance levels that riders demand.

Built around 27.5" wheels and a butted and hydroformed Series 3 aluminum chassis, the frame delivers 120mm of rear wheel travel using a new MultiTrac suspension system. MultiTrac offers similar performance to Marin’s award-winning IsoTrac system, but in a more economical package. Up front is a RockShox Recon Silver RL fork, also providing 120mm of travel, along with adjustable rebound and compression damping, a tapered steerer and 15mm thru-axle. An X-Fusion O2 Pro R air shock handles rear suspension duties at a level of performance not often seen at this price point. A convertible closed 9-12 rear thru-axle dropouts and fittings for internal dropper post routing allow for future wheel and component upgrades.

Key spec details:

  • Trail geometry with a low BB height, 67.5-degree head tube angle and longer reach
  • Wide-range 1x10-speed drivetrain with Shimano Deore Shadow Plus rear derailleur and 11-42t cassette; Deore shifter
  • Marin forged alloy crankset with hollow spindle and narrow-wide 32t chainring
  • Shimano hydraulic disc brakes w/180mm rotors
  • Double-wall alloy rims w/27mm inner width, wrapped in Schwalbe Hans Dampf 27.5" x 2.35" tires

“No matter how much you spend, we feel that everyone deserves an awesome bike," says Matthew Cipes, Mountain Bike Product Manager for Marin Bikes. “The Hawk Hill is packed with performance and well-suited for today’s trail riders, from the beginner trail rider to the advanced."

The Hawk Hill will be available worldwide late summer 2017. Target US MSRP is $1500, while the RRP in the UK will be £1100.
